A few places may get added in before mass printing.

I suggest we have a permanent link just to the right of the banner add thingey at the top. The TN forum can act as a great advertisement for the Downtown LIVE! website. Its an advantage that those other downtown or Tulsa websites cant match and will keep people going to it.

And yes, I cant wait to have our next meeting. There are so many possibilities that we can look at to improve both the website and the printed map. Would love to see the Home Page of the site livened up a bit. I know everyone on this project has put in a looooot of work, and I really want to thank those who built the website. They did a great job and on a tight schedule.

Very cool.  But . . .  "Java Dave's Copy Shop???"   Presumably, you meant Coffee, not Copy, but where at 15 E 5th is there a Java Dave's Coffee Shop?

A friend of mine suggested that we collaborate with Urban Tulsa to connect to their music calendar.  I wonder if there would be a way to filter it so that only downtown stuff shows up.  Then we could highlight it and say: "Downtown Music Calendar Brought to you by Urban Tulsa Weekly" or some such thing...

At a minimum, we could include a link to their website for the music/events.

"I don't know.  I just do not 'get it.'  How is it supposed to work? I looked at if for like ten seconds and it just did not do it for me.  It does not look like every website out there and I do not understand the colors or anything about it.  I do not know where to look or how to look so even if I do end up using it I would never tell other people about it.  Yeah I know you guys are real proud and worked real hard at it but i can get all that from other places.  I Besides, lots of other websites get more hits so why even bother?"

I like the idea and the map. For someone like me that only occasionally gets downtown, it takes the guesswork out of where to go.

Now, if we just had a trolley so I could have two beers instead of only one....

Guess what! there is a weekend trolley downtown!

Can we add the trolley information to dtlive?

I didn't see Topeca coffee listed.

No, you can't get this information on any other site. The Chamber claims they have all of it listed, but their site is about a year out of data and sitting at about 30% invalid info. When we started DTU's PDF (they don't have it on their site, they just link to a PDF) was titled "March 2007." so it was a year out of date as well. They have updated theirs since but still not real great. Not to mention neither of them have photographs, mapping, reviews or comments because they can't afford the have a chamber member getting anything other than 100% positive on a chamber site.

As far as traffic goes, at only a few days old, DowntownLive is tracking only slightly below this site and Urban Tulsa.

One last thing, I cannot imagine why you, of all people, would lament starting up a new website.

For the WebDev:

I should really being able to cycle through the description, hours and location tabs on the details.php page without a page reload.

Relax, just busting chops, it looks ok. Why not use the google api? Seems like it would be more feature-rich and easier to navigate.

Guess what!!! We DON'T have a trolley. We have a cutsie rubber tired, diesel powered bus.  It tries to look like a certain era trolley but doesn't really succeed. It's better than nothing but it is not a trolley.  Calling that a trolley is much like calling a dinghy with a small outboard motor a "Bass Boat", a plow horse a "Quarter Horse". It's kind of insulting really.

I haven't lived near the trolley since 1971 so I don't have any of my own pictures to post.

See:
http://www.phillytrolley.org/

Look carefully at the rubber tired Trackless Trolley. It is electric powered from two overhead wires.

The word trolley as used here is derived from the device that collected the power from the overhead wire(s).

Thanks for all the praises regarding the website, I represented the company that developed it. Wanted to let you know we are reading this topic and keeping all of your ideas in mind for the future!

Thanks for all your work, Ryan. Your company as well. The website is a great resource, and, unlike others, I really like the design/layout. I think the color scheme is subtle yet distinct, and the layout is clean. I hope, in the future, you heed my advice on the loading of the description/hours/location tabs on the details.php page I mentioned above. I'm also a fan of typography, so, personally, I'd like to see some more "flair" in the header fonts, but you can't go wrong with Arial (even so, I'd prefer Helvetica). Also, I'm not a fan of two "About"s in the nav bar (About Downtown Live & About TulsaNow). I think this would be better suited in a drop down or combined into one page. On the Browse page, I'd like to be able to go to a certain letter of the alphabet as well as next/previous page. If I'm looking for McNellie's, I don't want to have to guess what page it is on. Also, when I go to a business's page, if they don't have a picture in the Google Maps box, it shows a picture of the Abear's on Greenwood restaurant. I'm just listing this myself, so I apologize if anything I've said has already been mentioned. Overall, again, its a great resource and a great website. I'll use it frequently and will pass it on to friends.

Speaking of which, any chance of a mobile site? I'd love to pull this up easily on my Blackberry if I'm out and about and looking for someplace new.
