Give me the three dogs and drink special at the Coney Islander downtown and I'm happy. Oh yea, throw on a little hot sauce and it's just right.

+1.  I will drive downtown with my fiancee for the 3 coney special (I get 4 now though) just for the free drink! THANK GOD FOR FREE GAS!!.  I drove by there a couple of Saturday's ago with my dad to eat lunch and come to find out, they are closed now on Saturday's.  Which came as a shock, because it was typically always busy on Saturday especially before an oilers hockey game or Talons football game.

There's another 10 or so around the metro area isn't there?  Probably one much closer to you, or is the one downtown the only one with the drink special?

Give the one at 41st & Yale around the corner from the AMC 20 a try (east side, same complex).  That's always been my favorite, 11th St. is 2nd favorite.  No particular reason since Coney I-Lander makes all their chili at the same place on N. Lewis and all the provisions come from the same place.  Totally psychosematic, I'm sure.

FYI, plan is for CI to start marketing their chili through grocery stores in the near future.

I am a coney islander freak.  I have tried them all around here.  The one in jenks (the closest to me) is pretty good.  The one by AMC on 41st doesnt take debit cards, and I very rarely carry cash.  The one downtown is by far the best and the only that I know of that has the drink special.  It isnt much, but its been their special since I was growing up.  The one by woodland hills mall at 71st isnt that good IMO.  Plus I am kinda partial to the seats at the downtown coney islander.  I remember when it was across the street next to that old bar.  My dad and I would go to the booksale in the basement at the central library downtown, then walk down the street to coney islander, eat some coneys and then have a relaxing afternoon.  Oh those were the days!

They were open 10-8 Monday-Saturday less than two years ago. After two rounds of trimming their hours, they're only open 10-7 Monday-Friday.

I really hope the arena and the other new restaurants in that arena lead to the Coney Islander being open later and on Saturdays.

Am I wrong in thinking that the one downtown is a coney "island" and the other ones around town coney "islanders" and they are in fact not related at all?

Also don't forget to visit "Gus" at 21st and Garnett...still there after 30 years(+) ask for Squeeze cheese..its behind the counter...these coneys will knock out all the others above (except the one downtown)....try it out if you can get in the door at lunch...regulars have tried to keep this place under wraps...guess im letting the cat outta the bag...

I love Gus!  I haven't found any other squeeze cheese like it.  My family has been going there for about 30 years now.

When the guys I work with and myself are eating at Ron's, we've always seen that place and wondered if it's any good.  Guess I'll have to try it now.

They are related, the Coney Islanders are a spin off chain from the original Coney Island downtown.
Pitter-patter, let's get at 'er

sgrizzle

Coney Island > Coney Islander

Coney & Beach should probably not go together.

Coney, Chicken and Onion Ring Beach is just silly.

Aa5drvr

Looks like they are building out the space next door to Coney Beach to become a separate Rex's

What exactly is it you eat?  (insert snicker here) Everything is either gross, marginal, or disgusting to you.

an italian restaurant (I dont care if they say they are a bistro) that doesn't serve you bread when you sit down it a major failure in my book.  Oliveto is like saying "wow, Panera isn't expensive enough for me, I need to go spend MORE on bread and pasta".

it has to have free bread
