Obama Sign Stolen

Tulsa Time is Now

Ok. Well it happened. I've had my first casualty in the political sign front. I live around 53rd and Riverside. I had a Obama/Biden sign and an Andrew Rice sign in my yard. When I came home from work today, and yes people who are voting for Obama actually work, the Obama sign was gone. I was upset for a couple of minutes but then decided to get another one tomorrow and every subsequent day if need be.

While I can't imagine the lack of character it takes to invade someone's personal property to steal a sign, it could be worse. He, She, They, could have actually done something to my property. Then I probably would have lost it. So  I will count my blessings that only a sign was stolen and I will pick up several more signs tomorrow.

Needless to say, I am glad to know that I caused someone out there to get involved in the political process; however illegal it was. :)

Good job random Tulsan! Come again tomorrow!

Porky

I haven't seen that problem in Broken Arrow with people stealing Obama/Biden signs but I have seen some dogs peeing on them.

I've actually thought about peeing on them myself but I realize that wouldn't be very partisan on me. [8D]

I actually read where some people in other states have rubbed poison ivy leaves on the signs. I chuckled and then thought "hmmm. maybe I should try that" j/k.

Please don't pee on the sign in my yard. I'd rather you just take it! :)

I enjoy the people placing paper signs in their yards when they have high power sprinkler systems. The next morning their sign reads:

OBA   MA
BI   DEN

Wrinkle

My estimate is that 9 out of 10 political signs I see are illegally placed, either in public right-of-way or within the 12' distance from the curb. Any of those are subject to legal removal.

fwiw, realtor signs have the same problem.

Maybe whomever stole it needed it more than you? Or maybe it got redistributed to someone who couldn't afford or find a sign on their own. There's nothing wrong with that at all, actually, it's quite patriotic.

Good luck with your next sign, try the poison ivy thing - that's kinda funny.

Wasn't me, I just set fire to them or spray paint them.  I just can't stand a thief!

Or it could be that whoever stole it is a repeat-offender sign-stealer who was left under/unpunished by a liberal justice system.

Maybe Obama is stealing them so you'll buy a new sign and put more money in his election fund

I recycle signs as free standing targets.

Not out of peoples yards though.

Since they always paint Oklahoma red on the election map at 7:00 on the dot every election day, it doesn't really matter.

But I have to admit that I've seen an awful lot of Obama signs out there!!

Although I know with certainty that Obama won't carry Oklahoma, I'm smelling LANDSLIDE for him on a national scale.

You know, it's really not fair to McCain that he is not getting any of HIS signs stolen.  Can't you imagine how that would feel to be left out?

I was driving around at lunch today and noticed many, many signs in yards.  Odd combos, like McCain-Palin, Rice, Karen Keith, Sullivan in the same yard, or Obama and Inhofe in another.

Then there was the house with the McCain-Palin AND Obama-Biden sign.  Most definitely not a duplex, I guess that's what you call a house divided.

Obama seems to have a lot of appeal to wealthier voters in the Tulsa area, judging by some houses I've seen with his signs.  Likewise I've seen McCain signs in hard-scrabble areas I'd consider to be solidly Democrat.

That is a first. The only signs we are having stolen are McCain/Palin signs. It's rare to hear of a Obama sign stolen. it's funny how that goes, but what happens, happens.[xx(]

Grrrr, someone sold my Obama sign also!  I was considering selling them at my store; $2 for Democrats and $4 for Republicans.
