There may be an "official" statement on this thread at a later date but I'll go ahead and let you know what it is. With all of the dirtwork, especially recently, dirt and construction dust was blown up and gathered around the windows. The rain we've had has washed some of it down causing the black streaks. Once all the landscaping is done they won't have even a fraction of the current dust/dirt problem and then they are going to powerwash all the crap off.

To MDEPR who likes playing "where's waldo" for flaws, they just installed that sign. Sometimes it takes some time to get it all working, especially that high in the air. From watching the progress it appeared they had some trouble getting the "meatball" above the main entrance to work when they first installed it as well.

I've been there many times for Oiler games when they were playing Wichita.  It looks like a high school campus.  The bronze statue of the bull is also a little disturbing.

Power wash to solve the problem?  Respectfully I submit, "We'll see." But in the meanwhile been there done that many many times. Dirt and dust aside, leaching is a real problem to deal with. I do agree about one thing though. The building should have a regular schedule of exterior cleaning.

I don't see leaching now.  If what that is happens to be leaching, then why isn't it happening all over the arena, and not just concentrated around some of the ribbon windows?

That is primarily where I would expect it to happen. Many times the sealant specified for the building is not the one the glazing contractor uses for their glazing installation. Leaching under windows is common with new construction.

Some more interior pictures from a couple days ago are posted in a thread here:

It's starting to look near finished.  The suites are coming along and the the interior is getting the various coverings.

by dsjeffries   I think these are a really neat angle, seem very artsy. Reminds me of the great photos you see of the modern architecture in Paris or Valencia. So glad WE are lucky enough to have something like that.

by dsjeffries... simply beautiful

By dsjeffries   stunning piece of architecture, I cant think of anything in this region of the country that can hold a candle to it. Some of the museums and stuff in Denver come close. This really shows the scale too.

Saw some clips on the news of the scoreboard working as well as the giant art piece over the entrance. Both very impressive.

Is that one of those micro shots? A super close-up? Where precisely is that little X?  [:P]

I'm surprised noone has said anything about this response to the 'streaking' question...directly from Bob Eggleston via the KOTV news.
