I saw this on tulsaworld.com. Very sad. Their reports indicate it was either a young black Labrador or a small pug. Definitely not the type of dog you expect to inflict this kind of harm.

Very very sad.  Condolences for the family.

Wow this is horrible :( This is why I don't watch the news...

Where were the adults?  This is SO tragic.  Neither of these animals are what you would expect to hear about.  This is why BSL doesn't work.  No 1 dog is predetermined to be aggressive.  They all have teeth...they are all capable.
My heart goes out to the family.  Animals and children lost today.

That is no where near east Tulsa.  That is deep south Tulsa..... near 101st & Riverside.

"deep south" tulsa...hahaha thats funny.

south tulsa for sure.,,,deep?  I dunno about that.  I guess it is deep south tulsa if you consider anything evertyhing from I44 down south.

This is very sad. No baby should be left alone with any animal. A dog is still has his "wildside" inside of him. I must admit when I first seen this story I was thinking Pit Bull. This is very tragic.

This is indeed a very sad story. The death of a baby is very tragic. [:(]
I find it hard to believe tho that a small (channel 2 reported 6 weeks old??)black lab puppy and a pug would do this...something is wrong with this story.
Both parents and another adult were in another room for a undisclosed amount of time...not buying the first reports. I think there is more to this story.

I have no idea how it happened...but here is a scenerio.  The baby is swinging...the puppy jumps up (playfully) to nips at the baby's legs.  Puppy teeth are sharp...and you can see where I am headed.  I guess I am trying to find a scenerio that isn't no HORRID.  3 adults, and no one heard anything.  I saw the pup as they carried it out to animal control.  It truly did look like a very young dog.

I see channel 2 changed the headline now.

The cause of death is still an assumption at this point.  The puppy (which was euthanized) was about the size of the infant.
Tragic doesnt even begin to describe this.

This is such a tragedy! An infant is dead as well as a 6 week old puppy. This should never have  have happened to this family. This baby had to be unsupervised for a very long time for this type of occurance to happen. I don't mean to sound insensitive but when I saw the 17 year old parents on TV with their pink hair I had to wonder what the heck they were doing that they didn't hear the baby and where was the grandma...because this baby certainly had to have been crying! To put a 6 week old puppy to sleep when they aren't even sure it was that dog who did this really makes me not only sick but VERY mad. That puppy was probably playing with what it thought was a toy. I hope the police department have an answer for why they acted so swiftly to put this puppy down. I am furious about this whole situation and I hope our DA Tim Harris really looks into this tragedy.

I will be the first to crittercize any Harris decision, but come on, man!

Why so much compassion for the puppy?  Sheesh.

I hate to sound like a hard-donkey, but who goes out and gets a puppy when they've got a newborn child?  They require almost as much attention as a newborn.
