ORU on front page of Yahoo!

I'm from Iowa.  My friends are from all around the country, as are my relatives.  In law school tons of the people were, like me, from out of town.  I will attest to the fact that many people know what ORU is (most by "Oral Roberts" if not the acronym).

Basketball fans, ultra religious Christians, "middle aged people" (the 900ft tall Jesus made some news), and people who watch too much daytime TV probably know who Oral Roberts is and, by extension, have an idea of the University.  I'd say only a quarter of those know of the praying hands.

Of everyone I know that visits Tulsa - I'd say maybe 50% are actually amused by the giant hands.  Most all in a mocking sort-of-way.  I'm afraid to most Americans I know, fundamentalism is kinda funny/scary.
