1.   Their premium went from 93 to 91 with no price decrease.

2.   The news outed them for adding 10% ethanol to their fuel and not disclosing it to the public.

Since then, I have found places to buy gasoline not gasohol.

can you please tell me where because I have been informed by my sources that Phillips and K&G went gasohol too.

I think it is more than that. We have a Prius and normally get 50-52mpg.

In order to see what would happen if we ran E10 I fueled up 4 times with Shell instead of the usual Phillips. The best MPG I got on Shell was just over 47mpg.

Then I fueled up 4 times with QT gasoline. The best MPG we got was just over 45mpg.

I then went back to Phillips and the MPG has been above 50 ever since. In fact I filled up today and my MPG for the last tank of gas was 51.71mpg.

Never been to a Phillips station that has E10. Most actually have a sign somewhere stating that their gasoline contains no ethanol. I know the Phillips at 21st and Lewis has had it on their marquee for a while. The Phillips just South of 151st and Memorial has a sign stating no ethanol. The Phillips at 21st & Utica used to have a sign that said no ethanol but when I was there today it looked like it had been torn off the door. Only about 1/4 of the sign remained. Finally the Phillips on Charles Page just East of 81st West Avenue also has a hand printed sign saying no ethanol.

well, my source is telling me Phillips went over to the dark side too, but I'll check out my local phillips and see if it is a city wide thing or if its just a few that don't do E10.

I will say this much..I like QT.  I do hate the fact that they are selling E10 without disclosure (even though state law doesn't mandate they do).

I just purchased a flex fuel vehicle (runs any gasoline/ethanol mix up to E85)

Many sources I've read and my own experience using nothing but QT gasoline for the first three fillups tells me that although E10 may be a little less expensive, it will eat you up in fuel mileage.  I bought an 08 Avenger 2.7L V6 FlexFuel;  it indicates 17city/27hwy..I barely got 18 mpg my first tank (I attributed that to break in, but not so sure now).

I intend on buying gasoline from the Phillips at 31st and 124th East Ave, who says no ethanol in his gas period.  I'd like to see the difference for sure.

Before I left the area, when I've visited, and since returning, I have consistently shopped at QT, as they have what I need and want at any given time. There's always one nearby no matter where I find myself at any given time. Good, clean store, and friendly, courteous people.

TulsaFan-inTexas

I love QT. The one down here does twice the business of any store nearby. The stores are always clean and the customer service is excellent. I'm not a gas Nazi because I don't drive that much (work from home), so I really don't pay much attention to the ABCs of ethanol versus gasoline.

QT, in my opinion is a great store.  Why do they have so many repeat customer's?  If they did not sell gas do you think that they would be, for the most part, as successful?

QT makes very little money of selling gas.  Where they make their money is inside their store.

This is from a 1999 article about Chester Cadieux founder of QT...

"Result: The average QuikTrip store sold $2 million of merchandise and 3 million gallons of gas last year. The average store for Southland, which fi-anchises and operates 5,100 7-Eleven stores in the U.S., sold $955,000 of merchandise. Convenience stores that also sold gas averaged 720,000 gallons. Says Eric Spiegel, a consultant for Booz, Allen & Hamilton: "All the majors want to study them. They know QuikTrip outperforms them, but they don't know why."

They have revenue of over 8 billion annually!

You do realize they gaurantee their gas? does any other company do that? All you have to do is file a report and they will pay for your repairs.

oh, so you mean they are going to reimburse me for my lost gas mileage?  Give me a break.  E10 was the best thing that ever happened to those thugs because they know people will be coming back to fill up more. That means increased chances of people walking in their store and buying their garbage to shove down their pie holes.  I'm sure they can't wait to get E85 so people have to come back even more.  It is a parasitic type of retail behavior.

Can all of the ethanol haters stop being ego-centric for a while and embrace something that is good for our country and bad for the middle east?  That 10-15% of ethanol is made right here in the U.S.  So, you're all basically saying that you don't want to stop foreign oil dependency and start helping American farmers for your own personal interest.  This is so much bull****.  Go drive your Prius to Phillips or wherever and get your extra 2MPG...that is IF you drove the exact same route at the same speed etc...which I'm sure you didn't.  I bet all of you guys think Huckabee is a cool guy too.  Holy crap.

golly gee you should take that act on the road yuk yuk.

Quik Trip is a dispicable company that practices inbred employment practices and sells inferior E10 gas at the same price others sell regular gas.  I think they must brain wash all of you supporters with their nasty warmed over food and coffee.

Pretty low turn-over for a company with inbred employment practices.

Well except for the fact that the sudden push for ethanol is causing food prices to rise. Corn based products are in a helluva lot of things. Hell it is even causing the price of milk and meat to go up since cows are fed corn. Rising price of food = inflation = bad for everyone.

As for my driving habits. The Prius is our commuter car. It is driven the exact same route every day of the work week and is driven at, or below as traffic allows, the speed limit. It is not driven on weekends when our drving habits are quite different.

What the hell does this have to do with Huckabee? Not that I would vote for him...but that's a helluva reach to make in a topic about QT.
