I really like the Aquarium in Jenks, just so we are clear. But I wonder what they really mean by world class? If this is just a Jenks Aquarium in OKC, that's nice, but not really a game changer. If they are talking Chicago/Baltimore levels this is different. There aren't many great aquariums near us. The gulf coast has a few. Denver's is good. Omaha has a good one. But if OKC is actually wanting to get into a top 10 list, that would be impressive.

OKC Zoo's major funding source--a permanent eighth-cent sales tax dedicated to the zoo for the last three-plus decades generates $13 million annually.  Any donations made to the zoo on top of zoo admissions is gravy.   The OKC Zoo has built a number of state-of-the art exhibits (Great EscApe, Cat Forest/Lions overlook, Sanctuary Asia, Elephant Habitat, Pachyderm, Predator Pass  & Herpetarium over the last 30 years.

In 2019 the OKC Zoo envisioned a 100,000 square-foot space Zoo Aquarium, costing around $100 million.

Oklahoma City initially wanted an Aquarium downtown near the new convention center and 605 room Omni Hotel.  However, the Chickasaw Tribe wants to partner with the Zoo and have it built on the FAM museum & OKANA RESORT where they have plans for a small aquarium.  A larger so called 'World Class' Aquarium IMO will require more than $125 million to counter current inflation rates.

The resort will receive $102.2 million in (TIF) tax reimbursements.  The Tribe wants the Aquarium t on their 100 acre site.

You can bet the City will continue to gauge the Tribe's interests in the Aquarium which would be a good fit for the OKANA 404 room resort hotel under construction.  The traffic on I-35/I-40 corridor could feed into the FAM museum, OKANA RESORT and an Aquarium.

The Chickasaw Tribe has an impeccable reputation in the areas of entertainment & hospitality.

You can bet once the Resort is completed; they will be hosting WCWS tournament softball teams in the luxury resort closer to Hall of Fame
Stadium where players could relax in the amenities (pool, sauna, steam room, weight room) offered at this venue.

Rother Shrine dedication moved to early 2023'

Archbishop Coakley announced this week that the mass and dedication originally scheduled for November 4, 2022 has been moved to
     Friday, February 17, 2023.

Oklahoma City Archdioceses wanted to ensure all non-construction items are ready, and necessary staff members are in place
for the shrine to open immediately following the dedication.

The $50 million Shine is under construction in south Oklahoma City.

How on earth are they redoing that intersection and not putting in a roundabout?! Is there not a plan for that to be redone sometime?

Bomb damage... Really Red Arrow!  Sad

These aren't the final plans.  Will release more as this development submits its final design.  Those plans will have to be
approved by Oklahoma City's design & review committee & OCURA for final approval.  Maybe we can fix that 'bomb damage look.'  Cry

Red Arrow,

You had me laughing so hard "This view looks like the buildings have bomb damage," made me think of the unfortunate bombing
of Ukraine by the Russians--got to admit, without an actual development completed, could easily be one's observation.

Good stuff, stay cool . . .

You've got to kidding me . . .  Could care less about these round abouts in our city; however they do what they were designed to do, SLOW TRAFFIC DOWN.
