In my Hometown the water pipes are also very old. Flammers are the minority, so they get all the jobs. Flamers, on the other hand, always eat flan down by the undeveloped river. They should be deported, and those that sell them the flan should be flamed, flammed and fined.

The entire flan industry may fall apart, and we'll all pay for that - except we'll save money in the long run when we see they haven't paid any taxes - so there will be a surplus by the end of the year. That way we'll build the ball park down by the river and provide flan sales jobs for real Americans. They'll be white and racist - KKK people, of course. Or maybe Midtown Elitists who are against boxes in their yards and signs on the street - you know, Old Money and Bluebloods. They'll take over the flan business and the North Side will continue to go backwards because of a refusal to agree with taxes they can't and won't possibly pay.

I think it's the Mayor's fault, because if the Belvedere had been above-ground then we all know the River Tax would have passed and the street lights would be facing the right way, LED or not, and all the homeless wouldn't be downtown asking people for money. That's why they've all gone to 71st Street, which isn't really Tulsa at all. Tulsa stops at the Coney I-lander that's re-charging everyone's credit card four dollars and something every week. The Coney Place by TU that has that terrible construction that's bad for bicyclists that ought to be down by the river anyways.

All this talk of Conies has made me hungry.

Anybody know of any good Italian restaurants in Tulsa?

Do they serve flan?

Wingnut

I've heard that Flemmings has a fantastic flan. While I don't fancy flan, I do find it fascinating that there may be a fabulous, flaming flan flambé topped with fiddle faddle available from Fadlers that they sell at Flemmings.
They come in custard –bond paper cups.

Restored, why did you bring up Coney-I-Lander? It makes me want to pay some one to go and buy 20, refrigerate the buns and the dogs seperate, freeze the chili in a bowl and bag the cheese and onions, pack it in dry ice, and FedEx it to me in Phoenix.

Flan is good, lot's of good places here to get it, but Coney's haven't found a place yet that comes close in the 10 years that I have been here, and the last time I had any was November of '04 while I was in Tulsa for my mothers funeral. My wife has never been east of Tulsa and wants to go to Memphis, so I'm looking into flying into Tulsa and spending a couple of days seeing family and friends and then driving over to Memphis for a few days, so Coney-I-Lander is on the schedule.

I had to take two dozen to a friend of mine up in Breckinridge when I was driving up one time.  I can't imagine they were worth a crap after 14 hours on ice, then frozen/re-heated.
