St Francis Heart Hospital is moving back to 61st and Yale. The 91st location will become general care.

Personally I think this means th e"heart only" idea flopped.

Or St Francs doesn't like Southcrest having a foothold on south tulsa.

the heart hospital was a bad idea from the start... it did flop... if you had any additional diagnoses, the cardiologists would ship you immediately...

as far as southcrest goes, that catchment area is a huge factor... but st. francis was already planning on building a general care hospital just a couple of miles to the south and east...
just now, they don't have to...

but no, st. francis itself is not having any "problems"... this was really the best result for the whole community, except southcrest...

I find it more than mildly ironic that it was not long after the healthcare industry started to complain it was losing money that we built another hospital (Southcrest) and that's been followed by a plethora of speciality hospitals.

Buying real estate, paying taxes, maintenance, utilities, staffing, etc. hardly seems like a good way to save money in health care.

St Francis was "The" South Tulsa Hospital but When Tulsa expanded, and people in Bixby and BA needed care, it wasn't very convenient. Southcrest has a good location and great highway access. They are packed day in and day out.

It's ok. When the country goes into public healthcare the 5013c will be ripe for profit.

Doctors are paying out the nose for these new off site branches. St. John's is really partnering up with a number of them.

I hear that the best hospital is at 81st and Lewis. First class those orthopedics.
