New Mayfest Policy

The organizers of Mayfest have decided that dogs or pets will not be allowed on festival grounds. Several years of seeing an increased number of animals including kittens, snakes, iguanas in addition to the usual array of dogs at the festival prompted the decision. Probably the most compelling argument for the ban is the death of a dog at last year's event. Signs will be posted on streets leading up to the event and security officers will ask people with animals to leave.

I applaud the Mayfest committee for making this a policy of the festival and I hope people respect their decision.
