One wish for Tulsa in 2006

If you could have one wish for Tulsa in 2006, what would it be?

You can think big and hope that a major employer moves to Tulsa and hires us all at high salaries or you can wish something simple like we elect a City Council that gets along and supports the third penny tax extension.

My wish is that somebody (like me) wins the Powerball lottery and gives a large chunk of money to Tulsa Parks.

A beautiful and well maintained park can be a magnet for a neighborhood, a place where neighbors meet and help raise children. A good park offers enjoyment for all, from senior walkers and soccer stars to family strollers and frisbee golfers.

Unfortunately, budget cuts have decimated the beauty of many Tulsa parks and mowing/maintenence cuts really show. The park where I grew up has lost many trees and when playground equipment needed repair, it was removed instead of fixed.

That's my wish for Tulsa in 2006, what's yours?
