Of course he's testing out a bullet-proof vest.

I would NEVER suggest anyone ever do this, even with a vest.  Wow.

Those things are designed to keep you alive and without major injury.  Not to be pain free.  The anti-gun nuts will be out in full force with that.

Great way to fracture your liver, bust a spleen, or even damage a kidney.  The shockwave of a point-blank shot can be as damaging as the bullet.
