non-involved party/non-attorney obtain TPD report?

Something funny happened yesterday that I'd like a copy of the police report for..like the laughs and stuff.

Do I have any way of getting this? I know the date, time, possibly the reporting officer's name, the victim's first name, the "perp's" full name.

I looked on the tulsa county inmate search and didn't see the dude so I guess he didn't get arrested yet. (How long do people show up on there? just until they bond out? I know I saw Jerry Giordano on there linked from tulsanow a day or 2 after)

My gf is an attorney and I hesitate to ask her about this since it's probably something she shouldn't be doing even though I know she did look up the Giordano police report online with some type of special access that I think only attorneys/court people get.

Police reports are supposed to be public record right? This is worth a drive downtown for me but will they be able to find it with only the info I have?

Yes they are public record, but sometimes bureaucrats can be selective about how they interpret that, like you can only view portions of the record here at the counter or you can only view select copies at 50 cents a page or some such nonsense, depending on who they think you are.
Try looking at unedited OHP dashboard video if you really want a good example of this.  The closest even the Tulsa World can get is to be shown select excerpts on a monitor in a closed office.

Police reports are public record, but most police agencies charge per report/page.  Tulsa charges a fee, which is required by city ordinance.

You won't get an entire report.  Some of what you do get will be blacked out to protect private data.

Law prohibits you from getting copies of reports in order to solicit business.

Like many other city agencies, police are not moving into One Tech.  Too expensive to make a portion of the building comply with standards relating to holding persons under arrest prior to going to jail.  Same reason Court isn't moving there.  No place to hold prisoners who have court dates.
