You want to remove the homeless from down town? The answer is simple - move the welfare office.

They like to live close to it for emergency food stamps and other help. The fact that it is close to all the other services is just icing on the cake for them.

Pretty much everything is within walking distance of 444 S Houston.

Gee..... in all the time I have lived in Tulsa I would have sworn it had more to do with Downtown..

I don't think I have ever been hit for change at the State Building....
Something about the State Trooper car must fend them off..

Towns that I have lived in ,similar in size to Tulsa, seemed to have the same issue in and around Downtown..
Bums, panhandlers, and the homeless are part of the landscape of a Downtown...
You can wave no magic wand and solve the issue.. This issue will more than likely be here long after we are all gone..

The most encouraging news I have heard lately is the Zarrow daughters trying to put a large enough bankroll together to actually effect some  measurable change in the plight and location they reside in..
maybe a little cheaper than relocating the State Facilities...
