What's the deal with Delassandro's?

I go and enjoy the food with friends.

Last time I was there, I was wondering "Who is that guy in the chef's jacket who's slacking off and b.s.'ing with his friends for over an hour?  He's ignoring his co-workers and all the other patrons in the restaurant. If I were the boss, he'd be fired!"

Then I found out...he was the boss.

I go to Dalesandro's to eat . . . not because I give a hoot about what the owner(s) do(es) with his (their) free time.  They are always nice to my wife and me.

And a big +1 on Eric being a great server.  He's also a fantastic bartender.

As much as we like Saul.. Eric has to make my wifes' cosmo..... Saul makes mean martini for me.

i'd figure that'd be buzz's way of settling the discussion... sonny? pffft... keep talkin' **** aoxhole...

If I have to ask to be seated in someones area than the place has problems....I hope someone will direct them to this forum....

There are number of restaraunts in town that we ask to be seated in a particular servers area... we know them and they know us which makes for a more enjoyable experience. I was just trying to offer up one solution if you've had a bad experience with Dalesandro's.

One reason my wife and I eat at the bar is it to alleviate some of the issues from the 2 seating thing (which are at 6 and 8 by the way). We don't go there if we are in a hurry but could not agree more on the swordfish picatta on Friday adn Saturday. that is one entree we normally do not split.. i want the whole thing.

Pardon me for asking what may be the obvious (and for possibly keying folks in to a dining secret), but are you saying that one (or two) can go sit at the bar and order the same food at any time? Please tell... we have a babysitter on Saturday night. Might just show up, if we can get swordfish, at 7:38 p.m. Or 8:03 p.m. Crazy, I know. Thanks for confirming/negating.

That's the other part which is absurd- "seatings"?  It's not a ****ing cruise ship.

Call me antsy, but if it takes two hours to get through a meal unless I'm just in the mood to get smashed and call a cab, they've lost me.

Love the aroma of garlic.....it's smells better than ever now that there's no bread burning or conmen hanging out with the coolness inside.....

I'd rather dine with fellow con men than sandites any day.

I eat at the bar at a number of restaurants. If they're full and you don't have a reservation, just ask: "Can we eat at the bar?"  If so, you sit down, receive the same menu that you'd get at a table...and no wait!  (They'll tell you if there's a "bar menu" instead of the full menu.) Only drawback is that you don't get to sit across from your dining companion and chat face to face as easily.  On the bright side, you get drink refills much faster!

Go by on a Friday or Saturday or even Sunday it is crazy. And somehow people want to wait in line out the door. I was told the the Cheese Cake Factory has been the busiest Restaurant ever since it has opened back in August. That's a long time.

We went tonite and it was very average.  I didn't think the prices were THAT high but even for what we paid, I expected decent food.  It was very bland...  The atmosphere was great though.  Another plus is the wine bar next door!

We'll probably give it another chance but not very soon...
