I want to see what opinions you folks have on this subject:

It brings up a good discussion on how we need to handle homeless in general. While we may be ridding riverside of the make-shift homes, to we have a solution to reach out to these people further?

I saw in Seattle that the city was forced to allow tent cities along some expressways.

It was public land, and under-utilized.

I chuckled when I saw the "on site" report. Those folks don't hang around the river banks this time of year, especially at night. They left alright, but they'll be back when the weather is warm. It will take awhile to get them to not live the Tom Sawyer lifestyle.

Why they're moving them? Good question. Where they'll move to? Even better one.

where will they move?  why downtown tulsa of course.  they already are.  plenty of steam pipes to sleep next to....and workers to harrass for money.

They always move to downtown for the winter. It's a given. They will seek out the soup kitchens, eat the garbage and the shelters are there when it gets really cold.

In the spring they will be back to the river. It's cooler there in the summer. It's the place to be when it's very hot down town.

It's the same every year.
