Inteller, again you have proven you have NO IDEA what you are talking about.

E10 is, by definition and federal law 10% ethanol.  Ethanol has 85% of the energy as "real gas."  At a 10% ration E10 therefor has 98.5% the same energy per gallon as standard gasoline.  Not "at least" 10% less as you insinuated.  If you are THAT concerned I assume you check your tire pressure and air filter weekly, to get that extra 1.5% fuel mileage back (not that you lose it, keep reading).

And, of course, the octane rating of the fuel is reflected accordingly.  The 85 Octane you buy at QT has the same energy as the 85 Octane you buy at Phillips.  Apples to apples as it were.  So if you are worried about getting the most energy for your dollar, pay attention to that.

And by "everyone else" you mean Phillips & Sinclair (with Sinclair distributed by Magellan that will soon be inserting ethanol)?  Wow, very convincing.    Hell, in most parts of the country people would AVOID those stations for consuming more "foreign oil."  Furthermore, if you don't have ethanol - you have Methyl tertiary-butyl Ether to artificially boast octane levels (either ethanol or MTBE by law).  MTBE is water soluble and associated with a myriad of related concerns.

and damn it, under the oppressive QT regime Tulsa remains in the top 10 lowest metros in gas again this week:

NO!  E10 means I am getting only 90% of what I was getting before so don't even start that bull****.

And Ethanol is NOT required by law.  So PLEASE ****!  What IS required by law is ANY oxygenate (even this depends on region).  However, due to the corrupt politicians of our land, we have had this inferior alternative foisted on us.

cannon_fodder

You're an idiot.

*  I explained it very calmly to you.  E10 has 98.5% of the energy as "real gas."

*  Ethanol OR MTBE is required by law as I indicated above.  I never even insinuated that Ethanol was required by law.  In fact, I never even used the word "law."

Go ahead and play the victim again.  Poor, poor inteller.  Having to use ethanol.  Though he has no clue what the real ramifications are, he's sure it's bad.

Someone call a waaaaambulance for this whiner already.  Bush sucks.  QT sucks.  Ethanol sucks.  TU sucks.  Tulsa sucks.  The mayor sucks.  You're a spiteful and hate filled little man, we get it.  Move on.  Or at least try to complain about topics you at least know something about.

golly gee you should take that act on the road yuk yuk.

Quik Trip is a dispicable company that practices inbred employment practices and sells inferior E10 gas at the same price others sell regular gas.  I think they must brain wash all of you supporters with their nasty warmed over food and coffee.

Holy Cr@p!  You are really full of it!

They have become the largest Fuel seller in Oklahoma and have over 7Billion in fuel sales a year.

They check the expiration date on items every day, and brew fresh coffee every hour.  The computerized monitoring and cash handling system constantly alerts them as to the time each batch of coffee was brewed (brilliant!).

They created they mystery shopper system that became a model for other companies around the country.  Thousands of industries have attempted to copy their management practices.

They start their employees at a healthy salary with more benefits and profit sharing than almost any other US company.  They also have the lowest turn-over rate of any small retail chain.

They have consistently made Fortune Magazine's best company to work for list. (I think for the last 7 years, but may be longer).

The atmosphere from in-store to their corporate offices is unbelievably warm and extremely diverse!  As a guest in their corporate office you really feel like a guest!

They reward clerks through their mystery shopper system with thousands of dollars in bonus money each year, sometimes sending angry and belligerent mystery shoppers into stores to make sure that they get the exact same treatment and attention as the smiling guy who wants a cup of coffee.

I am proud to have Quick Trip Corporation in Tulsa and admire them for being one of, if not the, best corporate ambassador for Tulsa.

Way to go Chester, and Chet!

I have decided that you, Inteller, are simply an angry moron with access to the internet.  I'm sorry your life is so empty.

I see a problem there, don't you?  I understand if the QuikTrip brainwashing has you convinced otherwise.

Reading comprehension please.

It did not say they created Mystery Shoppers, it says they created the mystery shopper system that became the model.

Did Wikipedia have any information on who developed the mystery shopper idea into a viable management practice?  Wow, actually, that entire Mystery Shopper article doesn't site a single company.  In this instance it is clear your source is indicative of your level of knowledge.  Which is to say minimal.

Henry Ford invented neither the car nor interchangeable parts (mass production).  Does it change the fact that he developed both to a practical use and is largely considered the grandfather of both?

while we are passing out advice, how about typing recollection [}:)]

let me spell it for ya:

The energy of ethanol relative to gasoline
A.  76,000  = BTU of energy in a gallon of ethanol
B.  116,090 = BTU of energy in a gallon of gasoline
C.  .655 = 2/3 = GGE of energy in a gallon of ethanol.  A / B.
D.  1.53 = Gallons of ethanol with the energy of 1 gallon of gasoline.  D = B / A.

thus....

How much should you pay for E10 and E85?
If regular gas is $3.00/gallon you should pay
     $2.90 / gallon for E10 (10% ethanol).
     $2.13 / gallon for E85 (85% ethanol).
If regular gas is $2.00/gallon you should pay
     $1.93 / gallon for E10 (10% ethanol).
     $1.42 / gallon for E85 (85% ethanol).
Then you will be paying the same amount per mile driven.

The formula is this: For EX, where X is the percent ethanol

    Ethanol price should = Gasoline price times (100 – X + X/1.53)/100

Notice that 100 – X is the percent of gas and X/1.53 is the percent of ethanol adjusted down by about 2/3 because it has less energy.

Now, please ****.

I did not say they created it, what they did is perfect it!

I grew up in Tulsa and several of my very close friends worked their way through school at Quick Trip. . . and they are better people for it!  I don't know a single one of them that EVER has anything bad to say about the experience.

SO, besides your angry rants, if you want to trash something, provide your evidence, not just venom.  Did they fire you or something?  Was your coffee too hot?

Come on!  give us something besides your anger.

Some Phillips stations do, some don't.

The one close to my house is normall .01 cheaper than the nearby QT.

Phillips does not sell E10, the only other gasoline I know of around here that does not contain E10 is Sinclair.

Wal-mart/MurphyUSA was doing it before QT.

Oops, I forgot, wal-mart stuff is the same as everywhere and cheaper... and with rainbows.. please don't kill me wal-tang clan.

How devastating, he had a typo.  If you actually failed to grasp the meaning of his post by virtue of a "they" instead of "that" you not capable of civilized discussion.  Either you're daft, or obtuse.

Either way, I appreciate the lack of retort.  I assume you have nothing of merit to add and will continue on your negative little way?  Or sit around and pick out more typos, since it is evident you have no earnest reply.

well of course, you "grew up in Tulsa" so it must be better!

do they pay you to write this stuff?  I have these visions of communist Russian propganda posters with the QT workers standing side by side:

"QuikTrip, For a Brighter Future and a Better Tomorrow! GO To QuikTrip and Support your Comrade Today!"

[}:)]  QuikTrip supporters are almost as bad as Apple iCrap users.
