What if this forum had an "Idea Incubator" space?

Scattered throughout the TN forum are a lot of great new ideas, modest proposals, and creative concepts for Tulsa.  The Channels proposal is getting a lot of press, but if you think about it, a lot of Tulsans have terrific ideas every day, and many of them percolate up through this very forum.

What if we had a dedicated space on this forum just for an "Idea Incubator?"  It would be a one-stop shop for all the terrific proposals that TN forum folks think of.  And it would make it easier for Official City Representatives or...who knows...venture capitalists to get a whiff of the creative potential of Tulsans who want to help "make Tulsa better."

I would envision it as a space for the ideas that people really want to pitch to the public/elected officials.

Feedback?  (Or do people just like the stream-of-consciousness thing we do now...?)

My idea is to make the curbs along our streets out of sponge.

It could reduce street flooding, lessen tires being mis-aligned and be a instant source of water during drought.

I realize that most of my ideas are moronic, but my grandfather said "if it is a stupid idea and it works, it is not stupid".

Of course, there could be an area on the forum dedicated to folks like my dear friend RM...every time you read one of his comments, you'd hear the drums go "Ba-dum!"

My next idea would be to change the way we advertise the price of gas to reflect quarts instead of gallons.

If the price went from 53 cents a quart to 68 cents a quart, it would still be the same range, but people would feel awfully petty about complaining about a few cents.

I guess I am the only one with goofy ideas.

My next idea comes from Nascar. They have learned to maximize revenue by selling logos on everything.

I think we should expand the use of city employees, equipment and facilities.

Out firemen could wear uniforms with a Nike swoosh, our police cars could have bumper stickers that say "follow me to Krispy Kreme" and the mayor's office could have a neon sign that says Sonic.

Think of what we could do with all revenue.

Well, it would assure that TN would Scoop TW, UT, etc. on all the bright new ideas that come along.

She was on the board of Directors for Sonic Corp.

She used to work for Dollar/Thrifty, but hubby is involved in National and Alamo.

pancakes are you talking about? I wasn't being sarcastic. I sincerely meant that I consider the entire forum to be an incubator of ideas. There's a lot of crap, but good stuff pops up all the time in lots of different threads.

Isn't the concpet of a forum supposed to be to share ideas, which must obviously be incubated somewhere...
