Tulsa Hills adjacent and/or is it replacing something existing?

kvanover

I have no knowledge but my bet is the soon to be vacated Belk space.

Looks like the new sites are now reporting that it will be the Belk space

FWIW.   Belk is ~237524 sq ft..

makes me wonder if the announced 51,000-square-foot for IKEA is correct

swake

Is that correct? There's no way Belk is twice the size of Target, or even as big.

Yesterday I was using google maps to calc the area...
Today I get 132,000 sq ft.
weird.

This is like IKEA Light, it's more showroom and smaller warehouse with the most popular items available and others being direct ship the store or home.

I mean, 75% of the big stores are different models of kitchens, living rooms, and bedrooms, which is kind of cool, but it's not like 52,000 sq. ft. won't be a nice sized show room with plenty of product.

Here are the sizes of three of the other stores they are opening in 2026 (from Google)

Upcoming stores include Phoenix (75k sq ft), Gurnee, IL (66k sq ft), and Fort Collins, CO (64k sq ft).

They feature curated selections of home furnishings, accessory-heavy displays, and the new Swedish Deli concept. (from Google)

I hate spending the whole day walking around a 300,000 sqft IKEA. I think most people do. I can certainly live without seeing an example of every single thing they offer in every single color. This will be much better.

Finally got around to visiting the new smaller IKEA store in Phoenix and I can say it's a much more enjoyable experience than going to a full size store.

I needed to get some kitchen stuff and since Bed, Bath And Beyond is gone this was a logical choice.

It still has a lot of the vignettes of rooms with a lot of their furniture options everything else is a short distance from the entrance. I was able to get in, find what I was looking for, and get out in about 20 minutes or so.

The location is in what was a Hobby Lobby and a Tuesday Morning location, the Tuesday Morning location was years ago a Mervyns Store. This is where it is

It's only a 20 minute drive from where I live instead of 45 minutes to an hour to the main store.
