Don't forget to save more than $36 a year!

and remember, you have to do it every year!

So did we ever come to a consensus on this issue?  My health insurance covers my family's ambulance rides with a $50 co-pay.  Why would I want to pay twice?

Thats interesting. I never thought about checking. I was just going to pay the extra 2 or 3 dollars. hmmmm. I better check on that.

My health insurance might cover all or some part of it, but I'm sure it still comes out of my yearly maximums, etc.

Even if you ride just once, it's still cheaper to have the service than a $50 copay.

I guess I'm doing better financially than you folks.

I can afford insurance and the monthly EMSA fee.

I figure if someone visiting or staying at my house needs an ambulance, they might not have their own health insurance, or might have a high co-pay on that.  Besides that it's civic-minded.

But then, maybe I'm not as selfish and cheap as others on this board, particularly the attorneys.

Really?  Can I interest you in my Triple Protection Ambulance Service?  Anything your insurance and EMSA stipend won't cover, I will.  And I'll do it for only $150 per year.  Let me know where to send the bill.

Thanks for this opportunity to help you.

Wow. Since you are not selfish or cheap, why dont you add another couple of dollars a month and buy some lottery tickets to help out education or send 2 or 3 dollars a month to AA to keep them in Tulsa. Or better yet, go national and start up a Universal Health Plan Fund. You wont mind send 5 to 10 dollars a month to that will you?

Except that in 37 years of life I have yet to have an ambulance come to my home.

It applies to permanent residents of your household only.

yeah, and guess what, if you live in a neighborhood association that pays several watering bills, you are paying for it a lot more times than you think.

Shadow, if you are fine with throwing $36 a year away, then send me some money, i promise Ill put it to good use, just like EMSA is....[}:)]

Yeah, me either. I also haven't had my house broken into but it still has an alarm. I see a doctor about every 2 years but I still have health insurance. My kids haven't stuck anything in an electric socket but I still put caps over them...

Exactly....so it's "Ambulance Insurance" which I already have.  That was my point.

When they start charging me a monthly fee, I might use the service more. It will be like having a pre-paid taxi (with a siren).

"Honey, that's a nasty cough you got there, call 911".

"Ouch"...papercut!...Papercut!...hand me the phone".

"I am not sure that I should have drank tequila with those hot wings. Just dial 91 and keep your finger near the other 1."
Power is nothing till you use it.

You are SOOOO selfish!! Thinking only about yourself when it comes to the extra cost of an ambulance ride. Wow. Just bend over an pay the money already.

*sarcasm off*

What about this scenario...if you live in an apartment that is "all bills paid" is there an opt-in or opt-out choice? If so, who makes the choice? The Landlord?

i actually got a flyer in my mailbox from my apt. manager about this a few weeks ago.  i had no idea what it was about until this thread.  I just ignored it  basically iirc, the complex has opted out, but i think if you wanted to do it, you still had the choice to pay for it.  i'll have to check the flyer for clarification.
