Even though the name of the band seems slightly racist ("Crooked X"... think about it), they are a group of kids from Oklahoma who are trying to make it big through a national competition conducted by  CBS's The Early Show. Here is the article:

They are good, especially for the age. Last hard-rock band of people that young was Silverchair and they did fairly well until the lead singer had to bow out for awhile due to medical problems.
