Ok, I am trying to find some good quality steaks from somewhere other than our neighborhood grocery store. I have tried the MEAT HOUSE online and they want $52 for overnight shipping.  I have looked at Omaha online and they want $50+ just for two porterhouse steaks.  Does anyone know of any good butchers or place in town where I can buy some good quality cuts of meat?

I would try Perry's or Petty's. (that's pretty funny, now that I think of it...)

Perry's is on Lewis around 11th.  Petty's is the grocery store in Utica Square.

(Omaha Steaks are expensive, but fabulous...and they do offer specials sometimes that help with the price.)

Unfortunately, good meat is not cheap.  If all else fails, try to make friends with people who buy good meat...and show up whenever you smell the grill. :)

I would also suggest Hanover's at 41st & Peoria, though the owner can be a bit unpleasant.  Order your meat, move to the cash register, and don't ask any questions, and you'll do fine.  But don't go right before closing.

Is he the meat Nazi?

No meat for you!

I only buy from Perry's. The quality is great and everyone is super nice. No meat Nazis there.

Dawson's Market at 82nd and memorial. The butcher is also a professional chef.

I have to say, the last time I was at Perry's, I bought pork chops. The lady helping me literally touched every chop in the case with out wearing gloves. It was kind of disgusting. She then proceeded to wrap the chops in the paper, smearing pork chop goo all over the outside of the paper. I haven't been back since.
