I was looking for some information about a city council meeting.  Am I the only one who thinks the council's website looks really amateurish? It looks like my grandmother put it together for her church.  Why does it look so much worse than the city's?

It seems clean and functional.

I am not sure that slick and fancy is a good thing with public dollars.
Power is nothing till you use it.

Not the sleekest, but it is OK.  A "very professional" website will set you back ~$5,000 if you want custom templates and all.  The City Council website is probably a $1,000 special.  I'm OK with it.

Definitely not going to impress anyone, but it is functional. If it was our tourism site, or our business development site... I'd be more concerned.

It would appear that yes, you may be the only one...

im more interested in the content and I have to say they do a fine job of quickly updating committee minutes on there.

Now if they would just stream TGOV.  I was streaming my home web cam 5 years ago so you'd think it would be pretty easy for them with all the A/V equipment they have.

Its better than the State Election Board's website.

oh my eyes!  the horror!

i say teach these prisoners they have to design web pages, and then have them spruce em up.  I knew a guy that learned visual basic while in the clinker so I know they teach them skills.

Cellmate?

Gaspar

Old Dreamweaver 8 template.  I think it functions quite well.  Certainly easy to update.

The website of the people who did the council site is a bit dated too, not a good way to sell yourself.

at least they are local.  but I know there is better local talent to be had for the same price.

They should have hired this guy to do it.
