Just thought I would share a small project that TN has been working on. [:)]

And a big thank you should go to Sgrizzle for making the website and to many others for their help.

I am excited that we will have this at the Blue Dome Arts Festival.  Be sure to come out and see the booth we will have set up displaying the best artwork.

Anyone know any high school seniors? Make sure they are their schools are informed about this contest. $500 can go a long way when trying to fund a post-secondary education.

Has anyone informed the art departments of area high schools about this?  I know at my high school it was the art department that would give out information on art competitions... a dozen 5 minute phone calls going over the fine points ($500 prize) and pointing them to the website would go a long, long way.

They all received information via email.

Good deal.  Sometimes one gets so involved they neglect the obvious.  Just making sure we (you) had the bases covered.

I guess this wasn't bland or craptacular enough to be part of Mayfest.

Gee doubleA...

I had no idea you were qualified to be an art critic.

Power is nothing till you use it.

Pssst,,,, Don't let anyone else know,,,, but I actually agree with ya.

But just out of curiosity.  Why doesn't Mayfest pull the amount and quality of art that similar art festivals do in OKC or KC?  Do they not want it?  Or is it that Tulsa's market doesn't support it so the vendors don't come to Tulsa?

I tend to think mayfest is a product of it's market. Over the past 30 years there are more people who would support ($$) a spring festival than an art festival. Instead of focusing on arts, mayfest got combined with food, music and alcohol into a more broad festival. I've seen complaints online by artists that they don't sell much at mayfest, likely because a lot of the patrons don't care about art.

Only recently has their been enough interest for an arts-only festival to succeed. Thus, we have the blue dome festival.

I can't say much, I go to mayfest every year, usually a couple of times and can't say I buy much art. I've never been to the blue dome festival either.
