Anyone else not receiving mail due to the ice?

Didn't get any Friday
None Saturday
None Monday due to MLK Day.
None Tuesday

Not expecting to see any today.

Yet FedEx and UPS have been making deliveries in my neighborhood since Monday.

Hmmmmmm......

I tend to get on my soapbox about this one.

My mail and trash stop for every minor holiday,  weather incident and solar eclipse.

Pizza Hut, Quiktrip, and the Tulsa World are still going every day.

My neighborhood at 26th St & Yale is still all solid ice, but the postman has been to my house every day so far.  He usually comes around 4:00 PM on normal days; he was here today (Wed. 1-17) around 10:00 AM.  He showed up yesterday around 5:00 PM and left me a new AT&T phone book, the second one I have received in 2 months.  What's up with that?

My normal trash is Tues & Fri.  No trash pickup yesterday, so my neighbors still have all their garbage out by the street to view for 3 more days.  I did the decent thing and brought my can in until Friday.

No interruption in my area, Maple Ridge. Incredible seeing as our neighborhood is hilly with lots of steps. I can barely navigate but trash and mail guys are real troopers.

Here's one for the books. My truck got stuck at a stop sign. I had to leave it to go retreive a shovel just a few blocks away. When I came back a guy in a Benz was leaving from behind the back of the truck. I saw plastic shards on the ground indicating he had hit my indestructible bumper. HE LEFT A NOTE WITH A PHONE NUMBER! My faith in the wealthy has been renewed.

Psh, of course I'm getting mail.

My mail lady is a stud muffin like that.

(Go to our post office and get it if you need it really badly.)

I'm getting mail in Florence Park.  no trash service, though.  Of course, I'm not in the mood to take it out to the curb anyway.

No mail again today.

Got a package from DHL though.

One thing to remember.  I have seen mail trucks in my neighborhood every day since the recent ice storm, although I have not received mail every day.  Just because you don't have anything in your box does not mean the postmen are not hard at work.  I think they are doing the best they can.  My neighborhood at 26th & South Yale is a solid sheet of frozen sleet/ice, yet today I received my AT&T, & Mastercard bills!  Bless their hearts!

Actually I know I have mail. Was sent the paperwork, title, etc... for a new vehicle I bought last week. Credit Union says they sent it last Wednesday.

Should be here by now.

Waterboy, I am in Maple Ridge too, and, while my mail person has been a real trooper, I haven't had trash service since last week.  Nor did the recycle pick up on schedule.  I don't mind so much--I can certainly understand given the condition of the streets.  But it would be nice if there were some sort of announcement, so I wouldn't feel compelled to haul my trash & recycles to the curb, only to drag them back at the end of the day.  While the local channels are running those countless streams of everything within 100 miles closing, wouldn't it be easy to throw in "trash service suspended"?

My ads were frozen to the inside of the mailbox yesterday. I kinda looked like an idiot trying to get my mail out.

Good suggestion. I'm buying more trash cans once the storm is over so I won't have to make that trip back and forth as much. Last nite I tried to back out the driveway and simply slid out of control across the street. And I pride myself on travelling through anything! This storm is the worst I've ever encountered because of its duration. Couldn't blame the trash trucks for picking up curbside where the streets are passable and deferring others.

Our mail has been delivered but no trash service. I'm out east (161st and Admiral).
