Back in 1981 a friend got me to go see some kid playing at Boston Avenue Market one weekend. The kid was really good and we all though he might become something big. The kid was Stevie Ray Vaughn.

I remember a place called Boston Avenue Bell Company that was at 15th and Boston that was pretty good. They had phones on all the tables and you could call people at other tables.

Speaking of 18th and Boston, does anyone know what's going on at the southwest corner? The area that's a parking lot next to where the spirit bank used to be.  There is a construction fence up around it. No other activity from what I can tell.

I noticed that lot being torn up today. No insight on what's going on? Unless someone says otherwise I just assume new prettier asphalt parking per Tulsa's seeming obsession.

It's a new retail development by Eliot Nelson's group. Five storefronts totaling 8300 sf. They bought the dirt from SpiritBank - which just sold to BancFirst. So it will be interesting to see if more of that real estate is sold off. Could end up being a catalyst for that neighborhood.
