By today's laws almost EVERONE would be a sex offender. This is what happens when the government attempts to govern morality and parenting.  Is there any wonder why, for the first time in America, 1 in 100 people are behind bars.  I do not condone rape or pedophiles. My heart goes out to these real victims.  But young people are far more likely to become a victim of these ridiculous new laws that do much more harm than good.  Finding the truly dangerous types on the current system is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Forgive them, because if you cannot forgive, how can you be forgiven?  Give them an opportunity the rebuild your trust.  Never take your own vengeance.

The girl was probably more scarred by the embarrasment her PARENTS caused her.  Should have been handled between the families....but, I wasn't there & each situation is different.

Parents and their offspring often have different ideas about sex. Some parents, upon finding out their unique little flower has been doing it with some dirty boy from school go ape****.

And once the prosecutor gets ahold of it, he's not going to drop it. Child rape convictions look good on their record, don't you know.

He chose to sleep with a minor.  
He chose to plead guilty and be placed on the sex offender registry.
He chose to move to Oklahoma which handles it's sex offender registry differently.  (He was 18 at the time, so yes, he _chose_ to move.)
Your family whines that the laws are "too strict."


And if you want to get personal with your attacks, we probably need to take it to another message board.

No matter where you stand on Pro-choice or pro life, consider this.

If a 12 year old, can go to Planned Parenthood for contraceptives without their parents knowledge or consent, doesn't that sounds like "contributing to the delinquency of a minor" to you.

Now, a 15 year old has consensual sex with someone 18 and over, and lied about their age, the fact that he/she consented is inadmissible in a court of law. They legally cannot consent because they are below the consenting age.

However, if that same individual were to take a naked photo of themselves, the minor can be held accountable for child pornography.

Many and I mean many, young men have gone to prison and ended up on the sex offender register for life as a predator/rapist because the mitigating circumstances, (Lied about age), are NOT ALLOWED in as evidence.

Its time to repeal these laws.
