Driving past Veteran's Park today and we see that Spirit Bank has filled in the fountain with dirt and planted bushes in it.

Way to go.

Its been awhile since they filled it in. They had not been operating for awile either. The plumbing was deteriorating and covered with cement. Would require lots of money to rebuild. It also was an attractive nuisance for area vagrants. I'm more irritated with their ugly color scheme.

I think it's lame that they don't fix it. Fountains add so much!

And yeah, the color scheme...let's not get started on the neon...

It actually looked kind of pretty when the roses were in bloom in it last year. But really, even the plantings need to be taken care of better. I dont think they had anything, plantings or water in parts of it.  If your not going to put the extra money into it to keep the fountain running, at least do the little to keep it freshly painted and planted. Could be a nice volunteer thing to do, get some nice plantings and repaint it. Have the stupid bank chip in a little lol. You definitely get the feeling thats not the best of banks. Kind of shady and run down looking, I wouldn't trust them.

I think one of us just needs to get busy and get the plain old foundation going on the plan we had lol. I am swamped with other stuff or I would be on it. It is on my list of things to do this year and I will get to it, just not in the next couple of months. Mayfest mural, Tulsa Now Map project, Pearl District canal renderings, Goddess of Oil Statue, my Casino project, home remodel projects,,,, I am not taking on any more projects other than typical work for the rest of the year lol. Will get pushing on the Centennial Time Capsule project later this year when most of my other projects are done.  I am not volunteering for anything else this year! So nobody ask! I can barely fall asleep as it is with all these things churning around in my brain.
