The state narcotics bureau wants a common garden flower put in the same class as heroin.
Apparently some teens in Edmund had to go to the ER after swallowing some Jimson Weed seeds.

Another example of law enforcement creating laws?

Too bad there wasnt a law banning peppers many moons ago when a very young family member had to go to the ER for one stuck up his nose...

Now I guess were also going to classify bananas with cocaine, as well.
Or better yet, consolidate the OBNDD with some other agency that isnt so bats#it crazy.

Extreme paranoia is one of the markers of a meth habit.

Not that they wouldn't have daily access to quantities thereof   Wink (an area sheriff once said it gives his deputies an "edge" over the bad guys when they were going on an operation).

It just seems to be another state bureaucracy the taxpayers have lost control of, and a good candidate for consolidation with some agency with a slightly more rational track record.
