Police seek naked backyard dancer in Lake Highlands

01:16 PM CDT on Thursday, October 8, 2009
By JORDAN HOFEDITZ / The Dallas Morning News
Dallas police are looking for a serial flasher in the Lake Highlands area

Exposure incidents in the neighborhood, believed to involve the same man, might go back to 2005, according to police.

The most recent report came on Sept. 30. It involved a man exposing himself at a home on Edgecliff Circle, a small cul-de-sac not far from the intersection of Walnut Hill Lane and Audelia Road.

Additionally, there were two reports in January 2008, and one in August 2008.

In each case, a man either climbed a backyard fence or entered through an open gate.

Once inside the backyard, he either danced naked, or if there was a swimming pool, swam naked. Once, he jumped up on a backyard air conditioning unit and danced atop it.

Descriptions have been spotty. Witnesses told police the man is white, about 30, about 6 feet tall, with pasty skin and a pudgy belly.

Police said the man's face is always covered with a wrap or ski mask. He only stays a short time before running off.

“We would like to catch him before it escalates into something worse than indecent exposure,” said Senior Cpl. Janice Crowther, a police spokesman.
