When I was a kid, I always thought it was Arm and Hammer because of the picture on the box of baking soda.
lol Sometime in the mid 1980's there was a traveling Armand Hammer exhibition that my parents viewed in Tulsa, at Philbrook I assume, and until they explained it to my 7 year old brain, I imagined it being a bunch of baking soda boxes.

I wonder if Richard is a Juggalo? As much as it pains me to say it, the pic on the left looks like my son.

Wait....Armand Hammer? Really?
There is a Tulsa connection to the Armand Hammer family that also runs through the evangelical/faith healing community. However, not sure if this is how this came about.

Wasn't Armand Hammer the owner or major share-holder in Occidental Petroleum? I recall at one time the traveling Armand Hammer art exhibit came through Tulsa about 20 or so years back.

Yes he was. And Armand Hammer’s great grandson, Armie Hammer, played the Winklevoss twins in The Social Network

So driving by ORU the other day, I realized how much better they could make that place look just by making some of that surface parking a bit greener.
It can't not be obvious to anyone pulling onto that property.
Same goes for the medical center across the street but that's another story.
I know, it's a dead horse laying there and I'm holding a stick, but damn, what an ugly campus.

I don't believe green paint will help much.

I have to agree Towny. The Mabee Center parking lot looks like a vast Desert Prairie. But hey, you should be able to spot a car jacking with no problem.

I went to an event at ORU yesterday and noticed the Armand Hammer student center for the first time. Really nice looking building and sorely needed on a campus of outdated (though architecturally interesting) buildings. Some pics I found on Google:

Nice! Strong universities means a stronger Tulsa.
The David Green family has promised to match every campaign gift up to $45 million with a 3-to-1 match.
That's some serious financial backing right there, wow.

I've never been impressed with ORU, but I guess I'd rather them continue to improve and expand their campus than stay small and dumpy. It's sad that ORU is having to pick up the slack where TU is failing.
