...gets nearly 4000 write-in votes against a candidate in Georgia who was anti-science.  The anti science candidate won, however, with 16,000 votes.

It's Georgia...

Different county, but state is home of Atlanta.  Newt Gingrich, and his ilk.  Like a more cosmopolitan Memphis.
