There is a large Anheuser-Busch distribution center going in somewhere in Tulsa. According to the contractors I spoke with, it's large (very large). But no one knew exactly where it was going.
Out of curiosity, does anyone know any details on this?
I found some of the work up for bid, but no details:

Great, more 3.2 water.
Blame the state, not the brewery.
They also distribute Rolling Rock, Beck's, Jack's Pumpkin Spice, several malt liquors (if gravity is all you're concerned with), some energy drinks. As well as a ton of other obvious products. So at least we will have RR and Beck's on hand in case of emergency.
If nothing else, it's commerce and a new tax base for Tulsa.

Yucky yucky stuff.
CF- does your company subscribe to Isqft.com?
I like their on-line plan room best.

I blame Oklahomans who allowed it to happen in the first place and then knowlingly not do a damn thing about it.
I blame people for ever buying the water.
I wish we could get Fat Tire in Oklahoma. That's good brew.

Everyone said that in Fayetteville, AR for awhile-- an issue with distributors kept Fat Tire from going to AR. However, Fat Tire came to AR a few years ago, and now it is just like any other microbrew. I know it's all about personal taste, but I must say that there are many great tasting beers at McNellie's that you can't find anywhere in NW Ark. At least for some people, Fat Tire is great because they can't have it.
i just had Fat Tire last Friday....in Fayetteville no less. BFD...that beer is weak.
When I can walk into a place and buy Arrogant Bastard Ale, THEN I'll be impressed.
Let's remember that pretty soon we will have a local product from Marshall Brewing Co.

Drive to Kansas and stock up....

All we have to do is get people to buy 900 billion gallons of it and maybe we can grow Marshall Brewing larger than Annheiser-Busch? :)

You have your own beer?
(kidding)
I think the Fat tire thing is like forbidden fruit. We can't get it, so people think it's that much better.
If you want a good amber ale, the Full Sail amber is probably the best one out there right now. It's the nectar of the gods.
Paulaner Oktoberfest will always be one of the finest ambers around, although it is seasonal.
sgrizzle....you kill me.
that was funny.
I lived in Dillon CO for a while and had more than my share of Fat Tire.
I can't agree more with that forbidden fruit statement. Mediocre beer...and I've had enough to know.
The name is another big part of the demand. It's a cool name. See what a cool name does for you?
There's 1 beer that I love that McNellie's can't get....Bellhaven. Mmmm. I want one right now...at 10:42 in the morning.
Also, there's no Yuengling beer here. It's not bad.
The building that is being built at 41st and Garnett looks to be a fitting place for a anheuser-busch warehouse. Maybe thats it?

I currently have 4 cases of Yuengling Lager and 2 cases of Yuengling Black & Tan.
Had someone bring it back for me when they drove through Philly on their way back from Maine.
Now all you need are some blank invitations to send to me...for a party at your place.

Possible. I work less than a mile from there and drive by it everyday to and from work. I've wondered for a while what that was going to be. Still wonder.

I can see that thing out of my office window. Rumor has it that it's affiliated with Quik Trip, but now that I think about, the source of that rumor is consistently wrong about most everything.
So consider it a possibility. [;)]

Yeah the 41st location is too small for anheuser. From the sounds of this, this is a home for all the QT service trucks and personnel (the white pickups).

I am SO Jealous. I wish McNellie's could get Yuengling in. I emailed Elliot a while back and put in my request for it (never heard back from him though)
None of our local distributors can carry it.
My favorite beer that we can't get is Bellhaven. It's delicious.
If you want something we don't have, hit up local distributors. They'll have the real reasons why we can't get certain things. I've heard that Fat Tire has refrigerated shipping rules that our glorious ABLE commission wont allow.

Good catch. Then QT it is.
A-B likes to ship by rail, so look for it to be near the tracks. The present facility is off North Harvard on the SK&O in an industrial park developed by the Santa Fe in the late 50s/early 60s.

Incog has been promoting light rail wrong all along.

I had Yuengling on tap in Memphis, TN on Beale Street last week at a conference.

They are expanding, but quite slowly. It was only a year or two ago they started selling in Alabama.
