Title: Pet Quality Assurance Act - ASPCA notice
Post by: Hawkins on April 23, 2008, 02:10:33 PM
I get a weekly email from the ASPCA, and wanted to share this one.

quote:
Dear Oklahoma Advocates,

The 2008 Oklahoma legislative session is now over, and sadly, the Pet Quality Assurance Act (HB 3192), which addressed the state's puppy mill problem, failed to pass. Oklahoma is the second largest producer of puppies and kittens for resale throughout the United States, but it is the only state of its size that lacks uniform standards for pet breeding facilities.

What You Can Do
Your help is needed to ensure that the Pet Quality Assurance Act will be introduced again next year—and succeeds. Please visit the ASPCA Advocacy Center to contact your state senator and representative to let them know that you are concerned about Oklahoma's lax standards for commercial breeding facilities and want their support for Pet Quality Assurance Act next year.

Thank you for your support, Oklahoma.

Hawk, I'd never expect you to be such a cuddly puppy-lover. I'll make sure that I find some time to contact my rep.
