Today there was a wreck on the creek turnpike. My understanding is that two people lost their lives. Does anyone know about this?

Don't you have an army of reporters there? Or are they too busy writing about little Jayydynn's big soccer game?

It wasn't at the Harvard 'exit'. As the article states, it was at the Harvard 'overpass.' Harvard does go over the Creek Turnpike, but there is no exit/entrance.

They edited the article, it originally said exit.
I drove by there this morning and saw some of the scars left by the cars. Never had noticed that there is no real center median barriers in that area. Real easy to slip into the concave grassy area and go airborne on the opposite side. Can't we do better than that on a turnpike?

There was a thread on here last year that got a little heated over center barriers because the Turnpike Authority I believe was discussing putting in cable barriers as opposed to the typical Jersey barrier that is on the Turner and Will Rogers. I think it was AMP who was opposed to the cable barriers because when you hit them and bend over the posts he was worried that a motorcyclist might hit it going the opposite direction and be killed.
The advantage of the cable barrier is it's less expensive to install and easy to repair. The down side is it's not 100% in preventing cross overs. The Jersey barrier is almost 100% in preventing cross over accidents but I have seen cars ricochet back into traffic off of them.
I will say that something is better than nothing and have always thought that that turnpike needs something to prevent them.
I work with the mother of the 28 year old woman that survived. An incredibly sad tragedy. A little girl lost her life. A mom lost her little girl. Commenters on TW site are effen idiots.
