Title: Sally has a sister!

Prosecutor: Tell the court why you think he is a traitor to this country.

Miss America: I think Mr. Mellish is a traitor to this country because his views are different from the views of the president and others of his kind. Differences of opinion should be tolerated, but not when they're too different. Then he becomes a subversive mother....Woody Allen's "Bananas".

You can't make this stuff up!

From the Chicago Tribune:

Rep. Monique Davis (D-Chicago) interrupted atheist activist Rob Sherman during his testimony Wednesday afternoon before the House State Government Administration Committee in Springfield and told him, "What you have to spew and spread is extremely dangerous . . . it's dangerous for our children to even know that your philosophy exists!

"This is the Land of Lincoln where people believe in God," Davis said. "Get out of that seat . . . You have no right to be here! We believe in something. You believe in destroying! You believe in destroying what this state was built upon."

Sooooo, gays are worse than terrorists, and atheists can't be permitted to speak to their own representatives?

There's even an MP3 of the exchange:

I have to listen to that!

Anyone know if the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster has sought "recognition" by the City Council to "pray" before meetings?

I remember what you are referencing, but I don't really see the tie in.

Nonetheless, what about that religion in Hitch Hikers Guide with the "great sneeze" and the giant hanky that will come to wipe our sins away - awwwwwww-chooo.

I'd chuckle endlessly if you actually did that.

Our City Council requires "recognition" before you can pray, a more tacit invocation of the Davis philosophy, i.e., you don't deserve "that chair" if I disagree/do not recognize your idea/congregation.
