Title: Weather Call?
Post by: breitee on April 03, 2008, 12:03:29 PM
With severe weather likely again today, it's a good time to remind you about Frank's WeatherCall, a new service from NewsChannel 8 to keep you safe.

Frank's WeatherCall allows you to sign up for weather alerts on your phone, pager and e-mail. But unlike ordinary alerts, this system uses a mapping feature that only sends you warnings when your exact location is threatened.

When a warning is issued for your location, you will receive a voice alert from NewsChannel 8 Chief Meteorologist Frank Mitchell giving you information on the warning and what you should do.

It's something that could be a life saver in the event of a severe weather outbreak and costs just 50 cents a month.

Sounds like another way to fleece the public.
