Title: L3 Communications
Post by: Nick Danger on April 02, 2008, 08:33:48 PM
Is L3 the company that is leasing part of the building that the City purchased?

A friend of mine got laid off in the last couple of weeks, and said that they have been slowly laying people off in small numbers. That department used to be 700, now down to 15. I guess if you lay them off a little at a time, it flies under the media radar.

The "other tennant" is the reason the city is saying most of the new city hall will be closed to the public (or that you will need an escort to travel around the building with).
Another symbol of transparency getting cloudy...

it has always been L3's plan to whittle down what was left of Willcom.  It comes as no surprise they are down to 15.

Yep, that was made clear when they specifically negotiated to buy Wilcom and NOT the building.

department of 700 people?  departments are usually a little more granular than that....unless you are a call center or something.  I know when I did some work for the old Wiltel we never dealt with a 700 person department.  700 people sounds like all of WilTel in OTC.
