Title: PETA protest in Tulsa
Post by: Ed W on March 29, 2008, 01:04:08 PM
Some PETA animal rights activists are planning a naked protest outside a Tulsa KFC on Monday.

"Turn Your Back on KFC Cruelty"...sexy PETA members will lead a protest outside a Tulsa KFC restaurant on Monday over KFC suppliers' abusive treatment of chickens in animal factories and slaughterhouses. Other PETA members will hand out leaflets to curious passersby.

Date: Monday, March 31
Time: 11 a.m.
Place: KFC, 4235 S. Peoria, Tulsa

Please, please, please, will someone get some photos of this!  I'd really like to see if any of them are wearing leather shoes made from the hides of maltreated cows or if they arrive in automobiles powered by maltreated and thoroughly distilled dinosaurs.

This is a job for Santa Man!!!!http://www.peta.org/mc/NewsItem.asp?id=11189

Thanks a million, C-dog!  I'm sure Santa might fit this into his busy schedule.[^]

BTW, I have actually had the exquisite pleasure of attending, actually crashing, a PETA protest.  Actually, it's not really like ANY protest you might have ever attended.

No angry white guys wearing white bedsheets.  No molotov cocktails.  AND, certainly, NO large, six-foot, inflatable replicas of the male anatomy from the down under.

PETA "protests," if it can be termed as such, are actually more like a Playboy photo shoot.  Lots of paparazzi trying to get the money shot.  One or two cops munching on freebie Krispy Kremes off to the side.

Yes, PETA people all arrive by four-wheeled contraptions powered by dead dinos.  But, the NEKKID women are pretty HAWT and definitely well worth the trip!

Not like some of the GLAAD Dykes on Bikes affairs.  [xx(][xx(]  And, there's NO cover charge like Night Trips, either.

People, if yer gonna protest, at least make it pretty, entertaining, or BOTH.  Or else, it will look like a City Council meeting attended by a bunch of Boy Scouts, or worse, a Board of Adjustment meeting discussing yet another VARIANCE.  [xx(][xx(]

Show me an interesting variance hearing, and I'll show you an Asian massage parlor trying to locate next to Boston Avenue Methodist.

Leave these poor people alone!  Now that liberals are the new statuesque, young people have to go a little further to get attention.  Show them some respect!

Perhaps with a super-soaker full of pig blood?

If anyone that works for the city's dead animal pick-up crew would like a free lunch, show up with a full truck!

I'm bad! [:o)]

Naked women in cages?  I've paid good money to see that.  And I didn't have super yummy fried chicken right there.

PETA.  One of those groups that seems to go to extremes but may have the effect of getting companies to meet (meat) them in the middle.

Animals don't need to suffer needlessly.  But to be brutally honest, if it knocks 10 % off the cost of chicken, then it really isn't needlessly is it?  The KFC thing is to protest stock raising chickens and a slaughter line that involves slitting their little chicken throats, hanging to drain, and in short order dropping them into a de-feather boiling pit.  The problem being that a few chickens are still alive when dropped in to boil

Surely that sucks.  But the sad truth of the matter is most of those chickens have a better death than most people.  Even the ones that get boiled are at best semi-conscious and die within 15 seconds of getting plopped in the vat.  Not as good as a head on collision at 55mph and instant death, but far better than the dragged out death most of us have to look forward to.

Anyway, PETA has managed to do some good.  They caused TYSON to test low-stress kill methods.  Tyson discovered that animals under lower levels of stress release less adrenaline and other hormones at the slaughter house - and those have more tender meat.  So many hogs are exposed to high Co2 levels going into the slaughter house to calm them down.

Thanks for the tender meat PETA, and the naked chicks.

ps.

In Oklahoma, you are perfectly within your legal rights to do so.

Not anymore.  Since State of Oklahoma v. Ferrante, Oklahoma's world famous Sausage Factory is on track to change to amend Title 21 requiring upskirters get consent prior to upskirting.

I normally don't go to KFC, but today I did... their chicken was pretty tasty. The girls both appeared to have on bottoms....

Do ya think maybe their next protest target could be a biker bar since those guys wear all that leather stuff?

That could really be fun!

I really fail to see why people are picking on PETA so much.  I think you should be ashamed.

A simple rights group, trying to make the world better for EVERYONE.  Whats wrong with that?

I myself am a card carrying member, and try to push the agenda of (P)eople (E)ating (T)asty (A)nimals at every chance.

I was perfectly happy eating my chicken bowl while watching (mostly) naked women try to stop people from doing exactly that.

The fact the old lady was the one who got busted made it even funnier.

I rode a gerbil to work this morning.

In re: the Brookside protest.  I detect a tattoo on one of the women.  With the hoochie shoes, I bet they were rented from Night Trips or Cloud Nine.  Bet they both got tramp stamps too.

I didn't expect much support from this forum for PETA. But I was surprised that I didn't see any coverage on local TV. How often do we have naked women covered only by banners walking our streets? And they were pretty decent looking women!

They were actually wearing skin colored thongs and pasties, so they weren't really naked under that banner.  Just made to look so.

Close enough for night trips..

So did all the officers draw straws for topless protester duty?
