I noticed the last few days there's a new garden center on the north side of 15th between Gary Ave. and Florence Pl. called "Urban Gardens" (think I got that right.
This is the building on the fenced lot where there used to be a mini flea market. They had flats out of all sorts of colorful flowers and plants yesterday.
Pretty nice to see some color added to "our" Main St.
I also noticed that. This is great, now I can cross the street to buy my summer annuals.
I like to buy local when at all possible.
Between this and the new chocolatier opening at 25th & Harvard, it's been a great couple of weeks of discovery.
I'll give this garden center a shot before I hit any of the chains for my spring plantings.
There is also a tea room at about 19th and Harvard but that might be old news to you guys. Just FYI.
It's a start. [:D] Now think how nice it would be if that stretch had on street parking like the "other" end 15th street....or if parking requirements were relaxed in midtown. Maybe some of those other dilapidated buildings would find new uses.
Hi Everyone,
We are so happy to be open and are really enjoying meeting everyone from the neighborhood. We are an independent garden center and we love succulents! We also have lots of annuals, tomatoes, etc..Please stop by, maybe the weather will cooperate this Saturday.
