Just saw the sign up as I drove past on the way to work this morning. Traffic is gonna be a witch in that area real soon. The new restaurants, dental offices, and now a QuikTrip. And they ain't done yet.

since we are on the subject of QT, they just opened up the new QT in Glenpool. It is still in the same location just behind the original store.

Isn't there a QuikTrip exactly 1 mile south at 81st and 129th already? Usually QuikTrip is pretty good about not over-saturating the market in this kind of fashion. I had always thought the biggest hole that needed to be filled in their empire would be 91st and Mingo.

Nice joke about QT not oversaturating...[}:)]
Take this as an example of QT NOT oversaturating a market:
There's a QT at Admiral & Delaware.
Half a mile east, there's another at Admiral & Harvard. Go one mile south between these two and there's one at 11th & College.
Actually, I guess a map would illustrate their saturation strategy better:

Yeah, Broken Arrow is getting at least 3 new QT's
1. 71st and Elm - That store is almost done
2. 71st and 129th - Bricktown West Development next to Copland's and Ted's
3. 81st and Garnett - The old Golf World miniature gold course will be torn down.
This will mean a QT at 71st and 129th, 81st and 129th and 81st and Garnett.
Good point on my saturation comment, although I tried to qualify it with "in THAT fashion". But I guess I wasn't aware of just how many QTs they had stacked on top each other up near TU and 244.
To be honest, I'll be shocked if the 81st & Garnett and the 71st & 129th stores both get built. Even for QuikTrip that would just be ridiculous. I think you'll see one of those locations beat out the other.
What's with the land at 91st & Mingo??? About a year ago, Frisbee came in and cleared about 10 acres on the NW corner and nothing has developed. He must be asking a ridiculous amount of money for QT not to come in and immediately stick in a store. Great proximity to the highway, hospital, population.
Usually they build larger new stores (with 20 to 24 pumps) and close down the old smaller ones with 8-10 pumps that don't fit all of their new offerings within. The 81st and 129th one has been there for a long time, so I'm guessing it would have to be one to go bye-bye.
They used to close a smaller store when a bigger one was built. The store on 81st between Lewis and Riverside closed after the bigger store opened at 96th and Delaware.
They are building both the 71st and 129th and 81st and Garnett QTs.
Both plans have gone through the planning commission in Broken Arrow. You know QT is coming to 81st and Garnett to compete head to head with the new BA Kum and Go.
Tell ya what gang, I wish we had QT stores in Ohio. They offer free air and seem to keep gasoline prices low. We have "SpeedWay" stations (sort of like a QT but a bit smaller) in Ohio & Indiana and they are leaders in gas price jumps. They are the 1st to hike pump prices. They charge 75 cents for tire air. They are bad news. QT's are all right with me.

now that is just stupid. with gas at $4 this summer they think we need MORE places to get gas.

I really don't think that Quik Trip's profit model is built on the sale of retail gasoline, they probably make almost as much off the sale of a single fountain drink as they make off of a tank of gas.

And I tell you why their air is free...because the pumps rarely work or work poorly. I'm the furthest thing from a QT basher, but this is one thing I wish they could correct. And it's not just one store I've had this problem at.
Another thing, is notice the lack of QTs down the busiest north-south corridor in town -- Memorial. Not one until you get to 81st. I've always wondered what was up with that.

there is one on 61st between sheridan and memorial just a half mile from where you are referring to. There are also 3 along 169 just 1 mile to the east of Memorial. Those stores are close enough for me.

QT seems to prefer placing themselves on or near east-west streets as opposed to north-south ones.
I got word from a QT official that the 81st and 129th store will close once the 81st and Garnett store is built. They will just move the store number over.

Oh wait this is BA so that quote doesn't apply.
