Title: McCain VP choice?
Post by: RecycleMichael on February 18, 2008, 12:06:39 PM
I think he will go with a southern Governor to try to keep the south (especially against an Obama ticket). The best choices would be South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford and Florida Governor Charlie Crist.

The Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty was one of the earliest McCain supporters and stayed loyal even when his campaign was nearly dead last summer.

My wild card would be Condoleeza Rice. She neutralizes the democrat choices and assures the oil companies that they can trust him. They are very rich and have turned the current President's into the Grand Oil Party.

Mitt Romney is my guess.

1. Romney hates McCain.
2. McCain has closed-door meeting with Romney.
3. Romney backs McCain.

Any other good explanation?

Given Mitt's nickname of "Mulitple Choice," such a scenario wouldn't surprise me.

McCain and Romney are oil and water, I doubt VP but I would bet on a cabinet post of some kind.

Good point.  You think Giuliani is done or would he be McCain's b!tch, so to speak?

I'm trying to figure if they will go with a right winger or find someone about as centrist as McCain.  Smart money would say pick a rightie.

I can think of at least one evangelical candidate who's dancecard would be wide open.

*cough-cough-Huckabee-cough-cough*

Seriously, that guy can rock a bass like no other Southern Baptist I know.
