Let's have some fun suggesting possible Theme Music for the upcoming Democrat and Republican National Conventions.
I'm sure they'll appreciate our earnest suggestions.
I recall that the last Clinton elected President chose Fleetwood Mac's "Don't Stop (Thinking About Tomorrow)".
And,
Journey's "Don't Stop Believin' " comes to mind for another of their conventions.
Bringing back fond memories??
Okay, let 'em roll.......

For the convention where Hillary is the nominee...Helen Reddy's "I am woman, hear me roar".

Good Choice.
I prefer the authentic Elton John's "The ***** is Back", but I'm open to alternatives......
[8D]
I can't see the Republicans going with anything other than...
"The Boy's are Back in Town"
Maybe an outside chance for Nugent's
"Great White Buffalo"
For the Democrats: "Once Bitten Twice Shy" by Great White.
For the Republicans: "Livin' on a Prayer," by Bon Jovi.
I know, I'm feeling all hair bandy tonight.
For Obama, "It's a New Day," by Tim Krekel (look it up; it rocks).
For the GOP, "Crazy Train."
Democrats:
'We dream the same dream' Belinda Carlisle
'Nobody does it better' Carly Simon
'Heroes' or 'Changes' David Bowie
'Standing in the way of control' Gossip
And my favourite:
'Proud' Heather Small (look this one up too)
Republicans:
'If you tolerate this your children will be next' Manic Street Preachers
'Highway to Hell' ACDC
'Creep' Radiohead
'Better off Dead' Elton John
'Opportunities (Let's make lots of money)' Pet Shop Boys

Can't find "it's a new day." All I find are some harmonica and acoustic guitar stuff from this guy. Not exactly what I call "rocking." If I want to hear some rock, I need my bass, drums, and electric guitar.
Democrats - "Mr. Blue Sky" - Electric Light Orchestra
Republicans - "Pompeii AM Gotterdammerung" - The Flaming Lips
Nowhere Man/ Repugs
Won't Get Fooled Again/Demorats

<end clip>
It has all of those.
It's off Krekel's "Happy Town" album. It's out there. It's basically two amped-up electric guitars, bass, and cracking drums. Wonderful stuff.
Download "Fell Down in Memphis" and "Sugar for My Baby" from that album while you're at it.

"It's a New Day" is on "Happy Town" which came out in 2002 - a power trio record. Check out the review on puremusic.com and then go to their review of "Soul Season" which made a few national top ten lists for 2007 and reviews had references to guitar solos that would make George Harrison proud, Rolling Stones, Mitch Ryder, "soul-drenched rocker", etc. The videos you found online are from a solo acoustic performance he did for a tv show. He does beautiful acoustic music and rocks out too - and has rabid fans for both. If you have an NPR station near you, the full band is appearing on World Cafe on Feb.28 - check your local listings!

"Won't Get Fooled Again" - I love it! And I mean that.
