Post by: Admin on February 08, 2008, 09:53:22 AM
If you are unsure of your current council district, look here (//%22http://maps.cityoftulsa.org/DistrictFinder/DistrictFinder.asp%22).

Questionnaires were sent to all of the candidates, those responses can be found by clicking their name:

The current candidates are:
   Roscoe Turner (//%22http://www.tulsanow.org/tulsacouncil2008/.roscoeturner.asp%22)(i)
David Patrick (//%22http://www.tulsanow.org/tulsacouncil2008/.davidpatrick.asp%22)

Look for money to rain down on David Patrick's campaign, from the cronies of the local Ruling Power Establishment.

They definitely want to retire one of the two last remaining "Gang of Five" Reformers.

Having already bought off one (Sam the Sham Roop); Re-called Two (Medlock and Mautino). Then, when Re-call failed, defeated one (Mautino), and Sucker-Punched another (Medlock).

The very powerful and very entrenched local ruling Oligarchy simply doesn't want Roscoe Turner (or Jack Henderson and John Eagleton, for that matter) around asking those embarrassing questions, like:

Where's the handicapped parking at the One Technology Center/New City Hall?

and,

Where's the REST of the parking at the new City Hall?

and,

Where's the Master Lease Agreement with BOK?

and,

How are we going to pay for the BOK Arena?

and,

Why are our streets broken into pieces, with drivers having to chose to either dodge a boulder while driving, or drive into a hole?

Patrick's definitely the choice of the small clique of ruling Oligarch Families that have controlled Tulsa for generations....

Does a bear poop on a topic?

Of course. No matter what the thread, it can be a vehicle for incoherent babble. See above.

Sucker-punched Medlock?

Sucker-punched Medlock?

Well, as NOBODY had posted a reply to the initial topic posting in the 12 days it has been sitting so forlornly here unanswered, I'm now happy to report that there is a newfound 200% increase in interest in this Topic.

Thanks to my dear feind R-M.

As to Medlock being Sucker-Punched, the local primaries are a Winner Take All affair.

So, with Senator Inhofe's encouragement, County Commissioner Randi "Pool-Boy Toy" Miller enters the race late as a SPOILER to divide the Medlock base.

And, it worked.  While she came in a distant third in the Republican Mayoral Primary,  she did apply the unseen Sucker Punch to Medlock's Mayoral campaign.

Then again, Mayor Major MisFortunate could consider his candidacy a Dead-Man Walking Campaign after the GOP Primary, knowing as he did that 6 of 10 REPUBLICAN voters preferred someone else to him.

If he hadn't kissed and made up with MDG the very last Friday before the election, his loss in the General Election would have been even worse, losing as he did as the incumbent mayor 51% to 47%, with 2% going to Mr. Anti-Illegal-Immigration Faulk.

PRECISELY.

He's the best friend that Owasso and Bixby could ever have in Tulsa City Government.....

Doesn't former city Councilor John Benjamin still live in Bixby?

Does anyone know the address of another vacant lot in District #3, so poor Mr. Benjamin can possibly register to vote again in a Tulsa city council election?

You believe the only reason why Randi Miller ran for Mayor was to split the vote away from Medlock?

Wow. You are delusional.

Please understand not everything is or was about Chris Medlock.

Everything is not a conspiracy, either.

Golly, did I SAY conspiracy??

And, really, Mr. Patton, name-calling other Forum Posters is not just rude, it is so juvenile.

Act your age.  49 isn't it?

Isn't that enough time to learn some manners?

You're the one that alludes to a conspiracy.

Are YOU delusional?

If Senator Jim Inhofe and his advisors along with local disreputable notable Richard Roberts convince County Commissioner Randi "Pool-Boy Toy" Miller that it would be in her best interest for future elective office for her to get IN the race for Mayor to split the vote, and to make sure that reform-minded Madman Medlock cannot get the GOP nomination, is that a conspiracy?

Sounds like a plan.

A plan that was successfully executed.

Why?  Local "rules" have a curious winner-take-all primary for city government.

But, not for STATE office.

Hmmmh?

Kind of like that funny anything goes Recall Rule in the City Charter.

Hmmmmh?

When it looked like there was a decent chance of LaFortune losing to Medlock, the worried local ruling elite and their paid political paladins decided that getting Miller in the race could be successful in preventing a reformer from becoming Mayor.

A three way split, especially with them drawing their base from the same city council district, looked just the ticket.

We've never had a Reform mayor in Tulsa.  Probably never will.

The local ruling power establishment owns politicians and stages future politicians waiting in reserve, in both parties.

They like things to stay just the way they are.

Nobody asking questions.

Nobody getting any real answers, like just why does Tulsa subsidize the growth of Bixby and Owasso by providing water at the same costs that Tulsans pay?  Hmmmmmh?

Just why do local Boards, Authorities, and Commissions have pretty much the same players moving back and forth, but ALWAYS in play?

How long as Patty Eaton been on the TMUA?

Do Cameron and Reynolds come to mind?

Hmmmmh?

In heavily Democratic Districts, the local ruling elite have a supply of Demo candidates.

In heavily Republican Districts, they have a supply of GOP RINO candidates.

As Deep Throat advised Mssrs. Woodward and Bernstein,:  Follow the Money.

Meaning, see who contributes to the campaigns,

and, see who their Puppet-Masters are.

There is a difference in opinions when one is from the inside as RM, looks out at the struggling working poor and  the working poor trying to look into the inter circle, trying to decipher the promised charter amendments.

I voted for Turner during the last city council election but after his stand on illegal immigration in regard to the Tulsa ordinance requiring police officers to check the immigration status of everyone they arrest,I am voting for David Patrick this time.

Now the council election is over like was pre-planned, the mayor now wants to place the city hall (The only one I can find in a city this size that shares the peoples government headquarters with private companies)  off limits to the lowly taxpayers who will be required to have a permit and an accompanying guard to enter the sacred halls of the people's new city hall, once the people can find a parking place.

Could we place guard houses at the entrance of the four access freeways to the inter loop of downtown?

If we ever get the Iraq problem settled we will have a passel of trained operators of guard houses for off limit areas.

It can't happen here but it is happening all over the world.
