Title: The 2008 Senate Race.
Post by: Route66Kid on February 03, 2008, 11:21:28 AM
For all the GOP angst over the Presidential race, I don't think it compares to that evoked by the Senate race. The GOP has 23 Senate seats up for reelection, the Dems only 12. Five GOP senators are "retiring" and six GOP seats are considered vulnerable compared to only two Dem seats considered vulnerable. Realistically it looks to be a year of gains for the Dems. Even still two GOP safe seats would have to fall to the Dems in addition to all five open seats and all six vulnerable seats in order to gain that 2/3 majority, and that likely won't happen.

With 28 GOP House members quitting, it looks to be an opportunity for the Dems to add to their majority.

This ought to be an interesting year

May not turn out very well for Democrats.  I think people are frustrated by the pitiful actions of the current majority.  I vote for a complete FLUSH.

"May not turn out very well for Democrats. I think people are frustrated by the pitiful actions of the current majority."

Please bear in mind that most of the people frustrated with the pitiful actions of the current majority are DEMOCRATS!  That and don't forget about the obstructionist minority.
