Got to love all the people who say they are a student and/or unemployed, yet somehow was able to give $4600.
Which donor is using other peoples' names to skirt the campaign laws?
I think more of us should focus on giving to our state legislatures, who obviously need help with paying their property taxes.
Interesting reading. I see where Peter Walter the business donated $2300 to Obama, Peter Walter, the citizen donted $2300 to Rudy.
I also see our mayor is supporting Obama.
Hometown should be very proud of prominent Democrats skirting campaign finance laws donating money in the names of spouses and ostensibly children for his beloved Hillary.
There is only one Republican contribution of $4600, the next highest is $2800. And even then, I have to admit the high donor was a surpise, but not so much his candidate, considering McCain could be the next great Democrat President. Whoops, I see that generous giver to McCain also gave $2300 to a Democrat.
Robert Price and the price family sure show up all over the place on that list.
That's weird I didn't see "Friend Of The Devil" in $4600 contributions for Obama. Quit being so tight Aox. [;)]
Sure looks top-heavy on Democrat contributurs. I guess that's just proof that Republicans give at church and Democrats give at the office, or home, or school... (Sorry Hometown, couldn't resist). [;)]

I'd say grate post. But you might use it against me or take it the wrong way.
The charitable campaign funds from quality people (whose help came to Obama very early in the race) 1)knew it would be published and more importantly (2) saw the potential for a new beggining with politics in America. Pretty gutsy when Hillarys trouncing you by %40 in those early polls.
I see some other fund raiser for Obama in SF bay area Monday. Some different quality people.

What's surprising to me is how many business leaders and CEO's of their own or family company donate heavily to the Democratic party in Tulsa. I'm not going to get into naming names, anyone is welcome to look it up- but quite surprising since the image is the Democrat party is the "working mans" party and the GOP is supposedly the playground of the R-I-T-C-H.
This is purely out of curiosity and not ethnically or racially-motivated, but can anyone answer why those of the Jewish faith tend to support Democrats so heavily? Look down the list just in Tulsa and along the lines of 95% of prominent Jewish families in Tulsa support either Hillary or Obama.
Because Carter finally brokered peace between Israel & Egypt? Because so many live in NY and NY is very liberal? It seems like odd support to me in supporting a candidate who is itchy to vacate the Middle East could wind up creating un-intended consequences for Israel.
Another reason it's surprising is the party is still home to the Revs. Jack$on and $harpton. Both proven anti-semites.

It's a good question, so I googled "jews democrats" and "jews liberals." The front page of hits for each were filled mostly with blog entries . . . so they were opiniony, rather than facty. But pretty much all of them described a culture (American Jews) who are very heavily invested in social justice issues (as the Torah commands), very much into making the here and now more equal for all rather than relying on parity in the afterlife (as Christians sometimes do), and have identified their persecution by the Nazis as flowing from conservatism rather than liberalism.
One of the blogs mentioned that American business has always been strongly Republican, but for a long time the social institutions associated with those Chamber of Commerce types discriminated heavily against the Jews (places like the local country club, Kiwanis, etc; also major universities like Harvard). So despite the Jews being entrepeneurially inclined, because they were shut out of many traditional institutions, decided to make their own.
No-one shows up in my square mile.
i find this map EXTREMELY interesting. basically strong democrat support north of 44, and about even south of...but with much fewer people donating to the south.
