Title: Video billboards skirting the rules?
Post by: sgrizzle on January 24, 2008, 08:34:50 AM
Some design studio has moved into space at 705 S Elgin which is directly adjacent to the off ramps for 75 and 244. They have put large-screen TV's in the windows playing presentations advertising their company.

Isn't that considered signage technically?

Do people exiting the highway into downtown at 45mph need more distractions?

I dunno, considering the denizens living across the street....I'm thinking free TVs.

I would not think twice about looking left if I were coming in from the highway.  I do try to look at them when leaving town.

Overall I think it looks classy and you can't really look at them in detail unless you are standing on the sidewalk, but if it breaks the rules then remove em.

Perhaps they should just SLOW down, WAY down, and LOOK?  Naaaaaaaaah.  Forget it.

driving by them today, the glare was so bad you couldn't really see them. At first I thought they had taken them down.
