OK, here's a blast from the past....
After I'd graduated High School, was working and attending classes at TJC (nowadays it's called TCC), I would find myself at the Downtown Campus. Sometimes I would go over to the Williams Center Forum for lunch, or to the Library (well, the library is still there anyway), and in the process occasionally run into some very colorful characters (not in the caliber of those one would find in New Orleans or another metropolis, but colorful nonetheless). And one of those colorful individuals was a street preacher, who, if my memory serves me correctly went by the name of Luke Williams.
In the event you crossed paths with him, he was always preaching to everyone and nobody in particular, just yelling and screaming fire and brimstone and proclaiming the Second Coming or whatever. Heard he even went so far as to interrupt court hearings and other civic functions. Does anybody remember this individual?
There was a guy downtown doing it up until the main mall went away.
On occasion you will still find people near the courthouse informing people of their appointment in hell.
I try to convert them.

Well, beteween Fred Phelps' clan and the Tony Alamo bunch, must make for an interesting time uptown!
I dont think the website is active anymore, but there used to be yellingman.com.
Not only did it feature "Yelling Man" but also other "unique" tulsa individuals.
For instance, when I was a kid in the mid 60s there was a guy downtown that rode a ramshackle 3 wheeled bicycle that had a very serious "POLICE" sign affixed to it.
He doesn't yell, but we do still have Biker Fox.
And... FYI, I signed Paul Tay's petition to run for something or other. He approaches and starts to introduce himself, I say "I know who you are." And he looks somewhat dejected until I told him I'd sign it.
At this point is is just making a mockery of a system than needs to be made a mockery of. [:P]
I haven't heard as much religious yelling downtown since they tore up Bartlett Square (you remember, the place where we used to hang out and eat, read, and chat in the shade at lunch time...). Though I did see a guy a few months ago perched on the new "fountain" in the traffic circle. It was still annoying, but since there were so few people hanging around to hear it--and a greater chance of stumbling in front of a delivery truck--probably less satisfying for him and his straining vocal chords.
I'm not sure if they are paid by any organization whatsoever.
They are everywhere, they preach things which I don't know where they got.
