They talked to US. Yeah, we're all that. Although I'm pretty much an idiot when there's a mic in my face, so I'll probably only be in the background. The Artist was very well spoken, and of course, RM is used to the spotlight.
I lifted my shirt and showed them my TulsaNow tattoo. Now I am feeling bad and I hope they don't show that part.
The news guy was sure well dressed and well groomed. They really are better looking people than the rest of us, except maybe for TulsaMini.

Channel 8 is the ABC affiliate and they are owned by Disney. The president of TulsaNow called the "mouse", offered some cheese, and next thing you know, a TV crew shows up at our happy hour.

The bank was robbed at 3:20 in the afternoon -- it was more than two hours later when KTUL showed up at Caz's. Believe what you want. I really couldn't care less.
KTUL use-to at one time have their own forums. They shut 'em down I guess because of too much trouble. I'm glad I was not on TV I'm too shy. I like to express my POVs in writting only.. Can't you just see Sauerkraut on the news blabbing away? Yikez! No Thanks![xx(]
Inteller, you do realize that at any given moment there are 40 people on this site. Accounting for regulars and re-clicks, that still equates to many hundreds if not a thousand people per day. 1,000 people every day reading and posting on events specifically related to Tulsa.
Now, considering that a news reporters job is to cover local items it stands to reason that they would seek out sources of information in that regard. Not that they would rely on TulsaNow or any other news item on the internet, but it would be foolish not to use this resource as well as other Tulsa news sources and blogs to keep an ear to the ground. Thus, I expect many local media types found this site just as I did - seeking casual information about what's going on in Tulsa OR Googling a specific topic and finding a thread.
Now, consider the reporters task: find a filler local piece to run 3 minutes. Now, I have never worked as a reporter but I'm guessing they are human. With that assumption, I'm guessing sitting in a bar BSing with some local guys makes for a wonderful assignment.
Either that or this is yet another grand conspiracy by the all powerful TulsaNow to further promote itself (superior hits on Google wasn't enough, it only got us the first 1,992 members) and then take over the city. Ultimately the County (death to the suburbs!), then the state, region, and then we're going to New Hampshire, and North Carolina, and Florida, and all the way to the White House. Yeaaah!
Either that or some reporter sitting at his desk ended up putting TulsaNow in his surfing rotation and decided to do a filler piece on us. Personally, I can't decide which.

I watched the Ch. 8 TV story, thanks to sgrizzle's original announcement. I had seen recyclemichael before on other news stories and was aware of who he was, but it was good to see Tulsamini, Theartist, and Sgrizzle and put names/voices with the faces.
I keep intending to attend a TulsaNow social function, just haven't made it yet. But I will some day soon.

No. We had people who didn't want to be on camera and others came too late to be filmed.

First of all, I never said I did not like what I saw.
Second, this is the internet - I see what is written. I do not know what color, race or even sex you are by reading your posts. I imagine you can not do the same for me. You might have it "figured out" but we really have no idea who posts here.
And finally, so what? It is a voluntary open membership group for discussion. It is in our interests to get as wide a range of posters as possible and we can try to attract them by welcoming different viewpoints. BUT, we really can not control who posts here. So I fail to see how that has any reflection on the organizational integrity.
Please go find something of merit to whine about.
